A simple hydrothermal method has been developed for the systematic synthesis of lanthanide orthophosphate crystals with different crystalline phases and morphologies. It shown that pure LnPO(4) compounds change structure decreasing Ln ionic radius: i.e., orthophosphates from Ho to Lu as well Y exist only in tetragonal zircon (xenotime) structure, while La Dy hexagonal under treatment. The obtained structured (Ln = La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy) products have a wirelike morphology. In...

Abstract Plant salt tolerance relies on a coordinated functioning of different tissues and organs. Salinity tissue is one the key traits that confer plant adaptation to saline environment. This trait implies maintenance low cytosolic Na+/K+ ratio in metabolically active cellular compartments. In this study, we used Nitraria sibirica Pall., perennial woody halophyte species, understand mechanistic basis its salinity tolerance. The results showed growth seedlings was stimulated by 100–200 mM...

Elaeagnus angustifolia is one of the most extensively afforested tree species in environment-harsh regions northern China. Despite its exceptional tolerance to saline soil, intrinsic adaptive physiology has not been revealed. In this study, we investigated growth, organ-level ionic relations and organic osmoregulation seedlings hydroponically treated with 0, 100 200 mM NaCl for 30 days. We found that growth characteristics whole-plant dry weight were obviously stunted, but instead, even...
