Virus diseases of strawberry present several complex problems. More than 25 viruses have been described in the genus Fragaria thus far. Here, we describe a novel rhabdovirus, tentatively named virus 1 (StrV-1), that infects F. ananassa and vesca plants. Genomic sequences three distinct StrV-1 genotypes co-infecting single host were obtained using combined Illumina Ion Proton high-throughput sequencing. was transmitted to herbaceous plants via Aphis fabae A. ruborum, further mechanically...

Apple viruses pose significant threat to global apple production. In this study, HTS technology was used investigate the virome in Czech Republic. Previously reported viruses, including ACLSV, ASPV, ASGV, ApMV, AGCaV, and CCGaV, were confirmed, near-complete genomes assembled. Additionally, two novel ARWV1 ARWV2 identified for first time Phylogenetic analyses showed low genetic variability among isolates, suggesting a possible recent introduction or limited diversification. contrast,...

A novel RNA virus infecting strawberry plants was discovered using high-throughput sequencing. The analyzed plant simultaneously infected with three different genetic variants of the virus, provisionally named (StrVA). Although StrVA is phylogenetically clustered several recently discovered, unclassified viruses, it has a smaller genome and unique features in its genomic organization. specific sensitive qPCR system for detection identified designed. survey conducted Czech Republic revealed...

Members of the genus Luteovirus are responsible for economically destructive plant diseases worldwide. Over past few years, three luteoviruses infecting Prunus trees have been characterized. However, biological properties, prevalence, and genetic diversity those viruses not yet studied. High-throughput sequencing samples various wild, cultivated, ornamental species enabled identification four novel in which we obtained complete or nearly genomes. Additionally, identified another new putative...

The breeding value (EBV) of Holstein cattle milk performance from the first lactation was evaluated using a regular Animal Model or by Single-Step Prediction genomic (GEBV). A total 838 bulls were genotyped Illumina BovineSNP50 Beadchip V2. Two overlapping sets performances evaluated: calving years 1991-2004, with 729 341 lactations and 1 394 487 animals in pedigree 1996-2009, 808 436 608 pedigree. older data set included 526 bulls, which daughters' known for 210 individuals. During their lifetime, perennial woody plants are expected to face multiple infection events. Furthermore, genotypes of individual virus species may co-infect the same host. This eventually lead a situation where harbor complex communities viral species/strains. Using high-throughput sequencing, we describe co-infection sweet and sour cherry trees with diverse genomic variants two closely related viruses, namely prunus F (PrVF) (CVF). Both viruses most homologous members Fabavirus genus...

Five isolates of a new member the family Closteroviridae, tentatively named blackcurrant leafroll-associated virus 1 (BcLRaV-1), were identified in currant. The 17-kb-long genome codes for 10 putative proteins. replication-associated polyprotein has several functional domains, including papain-like proteases, methyltransferase, Zemlya, helicase, and RNA-dependent RNA polymerase. Additional open reading frames code small protein predicted to integrate into host cell wall, heat-shock 70...

GVBaV recognized to be a monophyletic very homogeneous species up 94% identities in distinct proteins.
