Abstract Machining of hard-to-cut materials with conventional processes is still considered as a challenge, the special properties these often lead to rapid tool wear and reduced surface integrity. For that reason, it preferable combine machining other technologies in order overcome problems materials. In present work, laser-assisted turning experiments on Ti-6Al-4V workpiece were conducted using AlTiN coated cutting tools investigate effect laser heating forces, temperature, microstructure...
The aim of this work was to establish the influence thickness anodic coatings on their mechanical properties and understand relation between hardness abrasion resistance. were produced in hard anodizing process onto 6061-T6 aluminum alloy. Their range 19 43 µm. resistance determined by using Taber test. weight losses obtained 15 11 mg decreased with increasing thickness. It has been shown that measured cross sections did not correspond Thus, new approach proposed. estimated basis results...
Servicing aircraft engines sometimes requires manufacturing only a single piece of given part. Manufacturing turbine disc using traditional methods is uneconomical. It necessary to use different machining method recommended for small lot production. One the proposed WEDM (wire electrical discharge machining). The article presents results research on finishing Inconel 718 fir tree slots. influence infeed, mean gap voltage, peak current, pulse off-time, and energy shape accuracy, surface...
An aluminium alloy (5005) was hard anodised using pulsed current. The influence of current density and bath temperature on the electrical parameters anodising process studied. It found that elevated does not deteriorate mechanical properties coatings, such as wear scratch resistance. following parameters: equal to 4 A·dm−2 °C gives lowest value electric energy necessary produce coating. Thus, they are beneficial for maintaining cost effectiveness plant.
Titanium alloys are included in the group of diffi cult-to-cut materials. The use diff erent methods to reduce temperature machining zone is one factors infl uencing performance machining. The most commonly used method fl ood cooling. On basis recent research, conventionally cutting uids can cause some health problems for machine operators. Moreover, it was found that they environment during storage and disposal. Therefore, years, aspects biodegradable reduction number metalworking processes have...
The paper depicts an application of Response Surface Methodology (RSM) for predicting selected parameters in turning Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloy using polycrystalline diamond tool. surface plots that are generated by the model helps determining optimum combination input factors (cutting speed vc and feed rate f) best possible roughness (Sa), cutting force (Fc)and temperature (T) dry cooling turning. methodology multi-criteria optimization was used to establish interaction between given responses
Abstract Inconel 718 alloy is characterised by high strength and corrosion resistance remains stable at temperatures, so it widely used in the energy aerospace industries. However, machining this material difficult due to its strength, hardness, specific force coefficient exceeding 3000 MPa. Turning of can be carried out with negative positive inserts. Therefore, impacts insert geometry on turning process 718, cutting components, surface roughness were studied. Three three geometries tested....
The use of the minimum quantity lubrication (MQL) method during machining leads to reduced consumption cooling and lubricating liquids, thus contributing sustainable machining. To improve properties liquids used under MQL conditions, they are enriched with various types micro- nanoparticles. purpose this study was investigate effect addition graphite micropowder (GMP) on tool life, cutting force components, selected surface roughness parameters finish turning Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloy...
Titanium alloys, particularly Ti-6Al-4V, are widely used in many industries due to their high strength, low density, and corrosion resistance. However, machining these materials is challenging strength at elevated temperatures, thermal conductivity, chemical reactivity. This study investigates Recurrence Plot (RP) Quantification Analysis (RQA) analyze tool wear during the finish turning of Ti-6Al-4V. The tests were conducted under Minimum Quantity Lubrication (MQL). Three inserts (two...
Abstract This paper analyses the nickel based superalloy Inconel 713C casts typically used in high and low pressure turbines of aircraft engines. The ingots were manufactured Research Development Laboratory for Aerospace Materials at Rzeszów University Technology. structures analysed by following methods: X-ray diffraction orientation measurement ultrasonic wave propagation. Ultrasonic techniques are mainly to measure blade wall’s thickness. Measurement accuracy is determined velocity...
Abstract Titanium alloys, especially Ti-6Al-4V alloy, are widely used in industry due to their good mechanical properties, such as high specific strength and excellent corrosion resistance. However, titanium alloys also difficult-to-cut materials. Metalworking fluids employed the machining process improve machinability of alloys. In recent years much attention has been paid use minimum quantity lubrication (MQL) techniques this study, tool wear its influence on components cutting forces have...
