Improving the phase separation and stability of hard segment domains at same time is novel method reported here to improve recovery thermoplastic shape memory polyurethanes (SMPUs) high strain (>1000%). The corresponding SMPUs with a more than 1000% can reach about 96% room temperature in 3 min, recoverable (εmax − εpermanent) 960%, which nearly 2.5 times that best value (400%) previously reported.
