We report the characterisation of Nocardioides sp. SP12, an atrazine-degrading bacteria isolated from atrazine-treated bulk- and maize rhizosphere soil. Based on 16S rDNA alignment, strain SP12 showed close phylogenic relationships with C157 simplex. Internal transcribed spacer (ITS) sequences were longer than those other present Ala- Ile-tRNA unlike Actinomycetales. presents a novel atrazine catabolic pathway combining trzN atzB atzC. Atrazine biodegradation ends in metabolite that...

The effect of soil organic status on copper impact was investigated by means a microcosm study carried out vineyard that had been amended with varying types matter during previous long-term field experiment. Soil microcosms were contaminated at 250 mg Cu kg−1 and incubated for 35 days. Copper distribution dynamics assessed in the solid matrix sequential extraction procedure solution measuring total free exchangeable concentrations. bioavailability also measured whole-cell biosensor....
The BamHI restriction modification system was previously cloned into E. coli and maintained with an extra copy of the methylase gene on a high vector (Brooks et al., (1989) Nucl. Acids Res. 17, 979-997). nucleotide sequence 3014 bp region containing endonuclease (R) (M) genes has now been determined. predicts protein 423 amino acids, Mr 49,527, 213 24,570. Between two is small open reading frame capable encoding 102 acid protein, 13,351. M. enzyme purified from expression clone, its terminal...
Sodium enters tight epithelia across the apical plasma membrane through a sodium channel, process inhibited by submicromolar concentrations of amiloride and benzamil. Using vesicles from bovine kidney cortex, we found that transport channel was benzamil with an IC50 4 nM. Amiloride (IC50 = 400 nM) weaker inhibitor transport. [3H]Benzamil bound to at single class high affinity binding sites Kd 5 nM, similarity which suggests these are associated channel. displaced [3H]benzamil Ki 2,500...

Arctic sea ice is rapidly transitioning into a perennial first year pack and this being observed with satellite remote sensing. Satellite image interpretation requires accurate knowledge of the physical conditions how they give rise to microwave scattering response that present within single pixel. This study addresses issue through focused sensing thin ice. We results from an experiment fused datasets surface-based C- Ku-band polarimetric scatterometers, LiDAR, drone-based optical thermal...
Oil spills in the Arctic are becoming more likely as shipping traffic increases response to climate-related sea ice loss. To improve oil spill detection capability, we used a controlled mesocosm analyze multipolarized C-band backscatter of newly formed (NI). Artificial was grown two cylindrical tubs at Sea-ice Environmental Research Facility, University Manitoba. The physical characteristics, including surface roughness, thickness, temperature, and salinity, were measured before after...
The genomic DNA of the marine nonheterocystous nitrogen-fixing cyanobacterium Trichodesmium sp. strain NIBB 1067 was found to be highly resistant restriction endonucleases. digested extensively by enzyme DpnI, which requires adenine methylation for activity. composition, determined high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), 69% AT. Surprisingly, it that a modified not methylated at usual N6 position present and made up 4.7 mol% nucleosides in (15 deoxyadenosine). In order residues this...
Coronary computed tomographic angiography (CCTA) is preferable to invasive coronary (ICA) for artery disease (CAD) diagnosis in elective patients without known CAD.We conducted a nonrandomized interventional study involving 2 tertiary care centres Ontario. From July 2018 February 2020, outpatients referred ICA were identified through centralized triage process and recommended undergo CCTA first instead of ICA. Patients with borderline or obstructive CAD on subsequent Intervention...
In this article, we examine atmospheric and river discharge conditions within the Hudson Bay Complex for BaySys 2016–2018 field program time frame. Investigated in particular is a subset of European Centre Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) Re-Analysis - Interim (ERA-Interim) forcing variables, namely 2-m surface temperature, 10-m winds, precipitation, sea-level pressure, addition to discharge. Results from assessment show that 2016 was characterized by unusually warm (terrestrial...
ABSTRACT: Seismic events and rockbursts are recurrent geotechnical hazards in deep underground mines with significant levels of stress extraction. These can be manageable if adequately addressed during the design monitoring phase. However, changes geological boundaries trigger a series seismic events. Temperature fluctuations presence water alter conditions, mechanical properties rock mass affect discontinuities. Two case studies presented. The first study focuses on seismicity induced by an...
