Purpose To evaluate the diagnostic performance of contrast material–enhanced magnetic resonance (MR) imaging for distinguishing paraduodenal pancreatitis (PDP) from pancreatic head duct adenocarcinoma (CA) in patients with diagnoses confirmed by histopathologic analysis. Materials and Methods This retrospective study was approved institutional review board is HIPAA compliant. Between July 2007 2010, 47 who underwent Whipple procedure MR less than 60 days before surgery were identified...

Abstract
Patients with Li–Fraumeni syndrome (LFS) are recommended to follow a comprehensive surveillance protocol, but the demanding nature may limit adherence. We sought identify barriers adherence and determine whether screening fatigue financial hardship contributors. A 39-item online survey was developed distributed patients presenting LFS clinic between 2017 2022. Of 39 eligible, 20 responded (51%). respondents, 75% reported they do not skip tests; however, this...

Abstract Background High-risk surveillance for patients with Li-Fraumeni syndrome (LFS) has shown a stage shift and improved overall survival, but is demanding. Our objective was to evaluate adherence in population of LFS presenting high-risk care. Methods A retrospective analysis adult at single institution performed. Adherence defined by the duration from initial University Virginia (UVA) clinic visit time first missed test. Two-sample t-tests ANOVA tests were used identify factors...
Small cell carcinoma of the ovary, hypercalcemic type is a rare, aggressive, and typically fatal ovarian cancer that primarily affects young women less than 40 years age. It caused by pathogenic variant in SMARCA4 gene, with nearly half patients found to have germline variants remainder demonstrating somatic variants. This case report discusses an illustrative explores existing data potential recommendations optimize timing genetic testing family members, given presence familial variant.
Vulvar cancer remains a rare entity and treatment options for advanced disease are limited. This case report highlights the excellent response of two patients with FIGO Stage IV vulvar treated neoadjuvant paclitaxel/carboplatin/bevacizumab chemotherapy. While definitive conclusions impossible, chemotherapy may ultimately prove to be better initial option locally in terms quality life compared traditional chemoradiation regimens.
•Intraosseous hibernomas are rare benign soft tissue tumors most often diagnosed incidentally.•Intraosseous hibernoma imaging characteristics can mimic bone metastases, including sclerosis, PET-avidity, and heterogenous enhancement.•Bone metastases seconadary to primary gynecologic cancers rare, but present in 1 - 16% of cases.•Appropriate recognition this finding dramatically change staging management.
