ConspectusCascade reactions represent a class of ideal organic because they empower efficiency, elegance, and novelty. However, development cascade remains daunting task for synthetic chemists. Radicals are known to be well suited reactions. Compared with widely used carbon-based radicals, nitrogen-based such as neutral aminyl radicals protonated (amine radical cations), underutilized, although behind some notable methods the Hofmann–Löffler–Freytag reaction. The constraint on their usage is...

Visible-light-mediated photoredox reactions have recently emerged as a powerful means for organic synthesis and thus generated significant interest from the chemistry community. Although mechanisms of these been probed by number techniques such NMR, fluorescence quenching, laser flash photolysis various degrees success has achieved, mechanistic ambiguity still exists (for instance, involvement chain mechanism is under debate) because lack structural information about proposed short-lived...

Abstract We report the first example of an intermolecular [4+2] annulation cyclobutylanilines with alkynes enabled by visible‐light photocatalysis. Monocyclic and bicyclic successfully undergo terminal internal to generate a wide variety amine‐substituted cyclohexenes including new hydrindan decalin derivatives good excellent diastereoselectivity. The reaction is overall redox neutral perfect atom economy.

Apple replant disease (ARD) is the most serious threat facing apple industry globally. ARD mainly manifested as decreased plant growth, root rot disease, and considerable yield loss. Microbial factors are dominant leading to occurrence of ARD. Research on soil-borne pathogenic fungi in China limited. In present study, we selected 16 replanting orchards from Northwest Loess region around Bohai Gulf. Diseased roots rhizosphere soil healthy trees showing symptoms were sampled at random....

While the sensory neuron membrane protein (SNMP) family has been linked to sex pheromone detection, roles in other olfactory-associated and nonolfactory functions have not as well-defined. In this study, four SNMP genes were identified for white-backed planthopper (Sogatella furcifera; WBPH), a major pest of rice plants. Tissue-specific transcriptomic data indicated that all SfurSNMPs are only expressed antennae varying levels but also observed several non-olfactory tissues. RNA interference...

During the investigations of macrofungi resources in Zhejiang Province, China, an interesting wood rot fungus was collected. Based on morphological and molecular phylogenetic studies, it is described as a new species, Anthracophyllum sinense. A. sinense characterized by its sessile, charcoal black pleurotoid pileus, sparse lamellae occasionally branching, clavate basidia with long sterigmata [(3-)6–7(-8) μm], non-heteromorphous cystidia. establishes separate lineage close to archeri lateritium tree.
