This article reports world averages of measurements $b$-hadron, $c$-hadron, and $\tau$-lepton properties obtained by the Heavy Flavor Averaging Group using results available through summer 2016. For averaging, common input parameters used in various analyses are adjusted (rescaled) to values, known correlations taken into account. The include branching fractions, lifetimes, neutral meson mixing parameters, \CP~violation semileptonic decays CKM matrix elements.
This article reports world averages for measurements of b-hadron, c-hadron, and tau-lepton properties obtained by the Heavy Flavor Averaging Group (HFAG) using results available at least through end 2009. Some presented use data spring 2010. For averaging, common input parameters used in various analyses are adjusted (rescaled) to values, known correlations taken into account. The include branching fractions, lifetimes, neutral meson mixing parameters, CP violation semileptonic decays.

Using data from the FOCUS experiment we analyze $D^+π^-$ and $D^0π^+$ invariant mass distributions. We measure $D_2^{*0}$ $M_{D_2^{*0}} = (2464.5 \pm 1.1 1.9) \mev$ width $Γ_{D_2^{*0}} (38.7 5.3 2.9) \mev$, $D_2^{*+}$ $ M_{D_2^{*+}} (2467.6 1.5 0.76) Γ_{D_2^{*+}} (34.1 6.5 4.2) \mev$. find evidence for broad structures over background in both neutral charged final state. If each is interpreted as a single L=1, $j_q=1/2$ excited charm meson resonance, masses widths are $M_{1/2}^0 =(2407 21...
We have performed a search for CPT violation in neutral charm meson oscillations. While flavor mixing the sector is predicted to be small by Standard Model, it still possible investigate through study of proper time dependence asymmetry right-sign decay rates $D^0\to K^-π^+$ and $\d0b\to K^+π^-$. This related violating complex parameter $ξ$ parameters $x$ $y$: $A_{CPT}\propto{\rm Re} ξy-{\rm Im} ξx$ . Our 95% confidence level limit $-0.0068

The Next European Dipole (NED) Joint Research Activity was launched on 1 January 2004 to promote the development of high-performance Nb3Sn conductors in collaboration with industry (aiming at a non-copper critical current density 1500 A mm−2 4.2 K and 15 T) assess suitability technology next generation accelerator magnets an aperture 88 mm conductor peak field ∼15 T). It is part Coordinated Accelerator Europe (CARE) project, which involves eight collaborators, half-funded by Union. After...
Using data collected by the high-energy photoproduction experiment FOCUS at Fermilab we performed a Dalitz plot analysis of Cabibbo favored decay D+→K−π+π+. This study uses 53653 Dalitz-plot events with signal fraction ∼97%, and represents highest statistics, most complete for this channel. Results are presented discussed using two different formalisms. The first is simple sum Breit–Wigner functions freely fitted masses widths. It model traditionally adopted serves as comparison already...
Using data from FOCUS (E831) experiment at Fermilab, we present a model independent partial-wave analysis of the $K^-\pi^+$ S-wave amplitude decay $D^+ \to K^-\pi^+\pi^+$. The is generic complex function to be determined directly fit. P- and D-waves are parameterized by sum Breit-Wigner amplitudes. measurement covers whole elastic range system.
For the Next European Dipole (NED) program, a Powder-In-Tube (PIT) strand was successfully developed by SMI. This high-performance Nb 3 Sn presents non-copper critical current density of ~ 2500 A/mm 2 at 12 T applied field and 4.2 K filament diameter around 50 mum. Extensive heat treatment optimization studies were performed in order to...
CERN and INFN, Italy, have signed an agreement for R&D activities relating to high-luminosity LHC superconducting magnets, which include the design, construction, cryogenic test of a set five prototypes, one each type foreseen, from skew quadrupole dodecapole. The reference layout these magnets is based on superferric design type, allows reaching required integrated field strength with relatively simple design. Since number all types series 36, emphasis has been put modularity, reliability,...
Amplitude analyses of the D+ and Ds+ → K+K−π+ Dalitz plots are presented using data collected by Fermilab high energy photoproduction experiment E687. Our fit to a model consisting sum Breit-Wigner amplitudes for intermediate two-body resonant decay modes. We extract fractions relative phases. These results used infer new branching ratios inclusive as well Φπ+ K∗(892)0K+ channels.
