This study compared the solubility of starch (G50) and microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) in an ionic liquid (IL), 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium acetate ([Emim][OAc]), at different temperatures. From SAXS WAXS analysis, polysaccharides could be totally dissolved [Emim][OAc]. Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectra showed a similar dissolution mechanism for MCC, which was related to formation hydrogen bonds between polysaccharide hydroxyls acetic anions, causing breakage bonding network...

Schisandra chinensis polysaccharide (SCP) is an experimental therapeutic for the treatment of intestinal injury. Selenium nanoparticle modification can improve bioactivity polysaccharides. In this study, SCP was firstly extracted and purified by a DEAE-52 column, then SCP-Selenium nanoparticles (SCP-Se NPs) were prepared, procedure optimized. Thereafter, obtained SCP-Se NPs characterized transmission electron microscope, X-ray diffraction, energy-dispersive spectroscopy, Fourier transform...

Abstract Obtaining relations between starch genetics/environment, its molecular structure, and properties requires that the extraction of does not extract more small than large molecules minimal damage to structure. There is no single study examining a range techniques with one type clearly defined criteria for optimal extraction. Here two very different substrates are considered: rice chickpeas. Eight used, there should be greatest number longer chains (quantified by average size debranched...

Following the publication of this paper, it was drawn to Editors' attention by a concerned reader that, in comparing agarose gels featured Figs. 1 and 2 on p. 998, two pairs lanes for TNF‑α data 'on day 14/on 35' 21/on 56' experiments were strikingly similar, although reverse orientations relative each other. Furthermore, MMP‑2 protein bands Fig. 'E' 'C' also similar appearance. Finally, concerning immunofluorescence shown 3 4, one pair panels figures found be overlapping, moreover, some...

Both plasma and mucosal levels of matrix metalloproteinase-1 (MMP-1) tissue inhibitor (TIMP-1) have been shown to be independently correlated with ulcerative colitis (UC), but their relationship each other disease severity remains unclear. This study aims evaluate the between colonic MMP-1 TIMP-1 (UC).Colonic lesions venous blood samples were collected from 30 patients UC 15 normal subjects. Real-time reverse transcription-PCR immunohistochemistry used determine expression; ELISA was measure...

Green plants can effectively retain atmospheric particle pollution and purify the air. As an important part of campus ecosystem, they have a significant effect on absorbing pollutants improving quality air environment. Six common greening were selected as object in Xiangnan University. The dust retention capacity plant leaves, leaf micro-structure, contact angle measured. results show that highest amounts removed by Osmanthus fragrans Lour was 3.451 g/m2, least Magnolia denudata Desr. 1.005...
