Effector proteins secreted by oomycete and fungal pathogens have been inferred to enter host cells, where they interact with resistance gene products. Using the effector protein Avr1b of Phytophthora sojae, an pathogen soybean (Glycine max), we show that a pair sequence motifs, RXLR dEER, plus surrounding sequences, are both necessary sufficient deliver into plant cells. Particle bombardment experiments demonstrate these motifs function in absence pathogen, indicating no additional...

Abstract The sequenced genomes of oomycete plant pathogens contain large superfamilies effector proteins containing the protein translocation motif RXLR-dEER. However, contributions these effectors to pathogenicity remain poorly understood. Here, we show that Phytophthora sojae Avr1b can contribute positively virulence and suppress programmed cell death (PCD) triggered by mouse BAX in yeast, soybean (Glycine max), Nicotiana benthamiana cells. We identify three conserved motifs (K, W, Y) C...

Arabidopsis ATP-binding cassette B4 (ABCB4) is a root-localised auxin efflux transporter with reported uptake activity in low concentrations. Results here demonstrate that ABCB4 substrate-activated regulator of cellular levels. The contribution to shootward movement at the root apex increases concentration, but hair elongation assays ABCB4-mediated evident concentrations as well. Uptake kinetics heterologously expressed Schizosaccharomyces pombe differed from saturation AUX1 converted...

Advances in microelectronics have led to the development of on-chip intelligent microsystems that can digitalize physical world, offering functions sensing, data communication, and response stimuli. Either mismatched form factors or limited energy density available batteries compromises their integration. We report a microimprint fabrication for Zn–air microbatteries, which bypasses complication catalyst incorporation on chip at target position. The integration bifunctional catalyst—covalent...

At least 12 avirulence genes have been genetically identified and mapped in Phytophthora sojae, an oomycete pathogen causing root stem rot of soybean. Previously, the Avr4 Avr6 P. sojae were within a 24 kb interval genome. Here, we identify show that they are actually single gene, Avr4/6, located near 24-kb region. Avr4/6 encodes secreted protein 123 amino acids with RXLR-dEER translocation motif. Transient expression soybean leaves revealed its gene product could trigger hypersensitive...

Gold and gold-based bimetallic catalysts for acetylene hydrochlorination were prepared with HAuCl4·4H2O NiCl2·6H2O as precursors, analyzed BET, TG, XRD, TEM, TPR, XPS. The Au1Ni3/CSs catalyst shows both high activity good stability, a C2H2 conversion of 95.4% after 46 h under gas hourly space velocity (GHSV) 900 h−1. results indicate that the addition nickel to gold can inhibit reduction catalytically active Au3+ Au0 oxidize Au+ during preparation Au-based/CSs catalysts, weaken occurrence...
