We study the transport of vortices excited by an ac current in Al film with array nanoengineered asymmetric antidots. The vortex response to is investigated detailed measurements voltage output as a function amplitude, magnetic field, and temperature. revealed pronounced rectification effects which are mainly characterized two critical depinning forces potential. shape net dc excitation amplitude indicates that our ratchet behaves way very different from standard overdamped models. Rather,...

In order to select excellent strains with high CO2 fixation capability on a large scale, nine Spirulina species were cultivated in columnar photobioreactors the addition of 10% CO2. The two selected (208 and 220) optimized for pH value, total dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC), phosphorus content intermittent 4 m2 indoor raceway ponds. On basis biomass accumulation rate present study, optimum pH, DIC, phosphate concentration 9.5, 0.1 mol L-1, 200 mg L-1 both strains, respectively. Lastly,...

We study the transport of vortices in superconductors with triangular arrays boomerang- or V-shaped asymmetric pinning wells, when applying an alternating electrical current. The asymmetry landscape induces a very efficient ``diode'' effect, that allows sculpting at will magnetic field profile inside sample. present first quantitative ``lensing'' fluxons superconductors. Our proposed vortex lens provides near threefold increase density its ``focus'' regions. main numerical features have been...

Species in genus Nannochloropsis are promising candidates for both biofuel and biomass production due to their ability accumulate rich fatty acids grow fast; however, sexual reproduction has not been studied. It is clear that the construction of metabolic pathways, such as polyunsaturated acid (PUFA) biosynthesis, understanding biological characteristics, nuclear ploidy reproductive strategy, will certainly facilitate genetic improvement through gene engineering mutation clonal expansion. In...

To verify the function of malic enzyme (ME1), ME1 gene was endogenously overexpressed in Phaeodactylum tricornutum. Overexpression increased neutral and total lipid content significantly saturated fatty acids (SFAs) polyunsaturated (PUFAs) transformants, which varied between 23.19% 25.32% SFAs 49.02% 54.04% PUFAs, respectively. Additionally, activity accompanied by elevated NADPH all three indicating that produced additional comparing with WT. These results indicated is NADP-dependent plays...

Abstract In this work, the (1− x )Bi 0.5 Na TiO 3 - BaNi Nb O (BNT-BNN; 0.00 ⩽ 0.20) ceramics were prepared via a high-temperature solid-state method. The crystalline structures, photovoltaic effect, and electrical properties of investigated. According to X-ray diffraction, system shows single perovskite structure. samples show normal ferroelectric loops. With increase BNN content, remnant polarization ( P r ) coercive field E c decrease gradually. optical band gap narrows from 3.10 2.27 eV....

The vortex ratchet effect has been studied in Al films patterned with square arrays of submicron antidots. We have investigated the transport properties two sets samples: (i) asymmetrical antidots where vortices are driven by an unbiased ac current and (ii) symmetrical addition to drive a dc bias was used. For each sample, rectified voltage is measured as function amplitude frequency, magnetic field, temperature. As unambiguously shown our data, rectification asymmetric induced intrinsic...

Polycrystalline La0.5Sr0.5CoO3 (LSCO) film is prepared on Pt/Ti/SiO2/Si substrates by pulsed laser deposition in order to explore the resistive switching behavior of Ag/LSCO/Pt structure. It found that oxygen stoichiometric LSCO (LSCO-2) structure does not possess distinct rectifying behavior, while deficient La0.5Sr0.5CoO3−σ (LSCO-1) exhibits very stable bipolar which attributed vacancies film. The resistance ratio between high state and low about 100, can be maintained up 200 cycles 25 h...

Oxide ferroelectrics have great potential applications in optoelectronic and solar devices. However, most oxide show wide bandgaps (>3.2 eV), limiting their use the photovoltaic field. Adding BaFeO3 (BF) into ferroelectric Bi0.5Na0.5TiO3 (BNT) matrix decreases bandgap enhances photocurrent densities. This work prepares perovskite-structured (1 − x) Bi0.5Na0.5TiO3–xBaFeO3 (BNT–BF; x = 0.00–0.10) ceramics via solid-state reaction. Increasing BF content reduces rhombohedral distortion...
