We observe a signal for the doubly charmed baryon Xi(+)(cc) in charged decay mode Xi(+)(cc)-->Lambda(+)(c)K-pi(+) data from SELEX, charm hadroproduction experiment at Fermilab. an excess of 15.9 events over expected background 6.1+/-0.5 events, statistical significance 6.3sigma. The observed mass this state is 3519+/-1 MeV/c(2). Gaussian width 3 MeV/c(2), consistent with resolution; its lifetime less than 33 fs 90% confidence.

Lactobacillus sake Lb 706 can release a bacteriocin inhibitory to Listeria monocytogenes . In MRS broth, viable counts decreased rapidly when Lact. was added, whereas growth of the listerias not affected by bacteriocin‐negative variant same strain. Inhibition L. also observed in pasteurized minced meat inoculated with 706. The produced is apparently effective meat. However, effect producer less evident than broth. comminuted cured raw pork filled into casings (German‐type ‘fresh Mettwurst’),...

ABSTRACT Longissimus muscle obtained from beef carcasses was used in this research. Initially, 0.596, 1.0% and 1.5% lactic citric acid solutions were prepared. Meat marinated these (1:4 w/v) polyethylene bags at 4C for 72h. Bound water, pH, weight gain, cooking loss Warner Bratzler shear (WBS) evaluated. Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) to determine the bound water content meat samples. The latent heat of melting (ΔH m ) found be functions moisture meat. There a significant decrease...

We report on the test beam results and calibration methods using high energy electrons, pions muons with CMS forward calorimeter (HF). The HF covers a large pseudorapidity region ( $3\leq|\eta|\leq5$ ), is essential for number of physics channels missing transverse energy. It also expected to play prominent role in measurement tagging jets weak boson fusion Higgs production. based steel absorber embedded fused-silica-core optical fibers where Cherenkov radiation forms basis signal...

The aim of the study was to identify lactic acid bacteria and Gram-positive catalase-positive cocci isolated from Turkish dry fermented sausage (sucuk) produced by 7 different manufacturers without using starter culture. A total 129 isolates were identified phenotypically. Lactobacillus plantarum dominant species (45.7%) followed L. curvatus (10.9%) fermentum (9.3%). Pediococcus as P. pentosaceus acidilactici. All gram-positive (123 isolates) classified Staphylococcus except for 1 isolate...

Extensive measurements have been made with pions, electrons and muons on four production wedges of the compact muon solenoid (CMS) hadron barrel (HB) calorimeter in H2 beam line at CERN particle momenta varying from 20 to 300 GeV/c. The time structure events was measured full chain preproduction front-end electronics running 34 MHz. Moving-wire radioactive source data were also collected for all scintillator layers HB. energy dependent slewing effect tuned optimal performance.

ABSTRACT: The effects of different commercial starter cultures on fatty acid composition the pastirma (Turkish dry meat product) were investigated. It was observed that using ( Staphylococcus carnosus, carnosus + Lactobocillus pentosus, Staphylococcusxylosus Lactobacillus sakei ) in manufacturing had significant (P < 0.01). However; effect each culture different. Most change occured during drying steps manufacturing. TBA values samples produced with starters lower than those control group.

We present data from Fermilab experiment E781 (SELEX) on the hadroproduction asymmetry for Λ̄c− compared to Λc+ as a function of xF, and pt2 distributions Λc+. These were measured in same apparatus using incident π−, Σ− beams at 600 GeV/c proton beam 540 GeV/c. The is studied xF. In forward hemisphere with xF⩾0.2 both baryon exhibit very strong preference producing charm baryons rather than antibaryons, while pion much smaller. this energy regime results show that fragments play major role...

Abstract This research was carried out to determine the effects of commercial probiotic (115-Biogallinox) on colour properties carcasses and dissected products in broilers. Ross-308 male chicks were given (P0:0 g/kg, P1:1 g/kg P2:2 g/kg) containing Saccharomyces cerevisiae for 49 days. At end trial all birds slaughtered, pH skin determined at various times during first 24 h (1, 3, 7, 12, 17 h).
