Abstract Background Drosophila Merlin, the homolog of human Neurofibromatosis 2 ( NF2 ) gene, is important for regulation cell proliferation and receptor endocytosis. Male flies carrying a Mer 3 allele, missense mutation (Met 177 →Ile) in Merlin are viable but sterile; however, cause sterility unknown. Results Testis examination reveals that hemizygous mutant males have small seminal vesicles contain only few immotile sperm. By cytological electron microscopy analyses , 4 (Gln 170 →stop),...

Disassembly and reassembly of the nuclear pore complexes (NPCs) is one major events during open mitosis in higher eukaryotes. However, how this process controlled by mitotic machinery not clear. To investigate we developed a novel vivo model system based on syncytial Drosophila embryos. We microinjected different effectors into embryonic cytoplasm monitored dynamics disassembly/reassembly NPCs live embryos using fluorescently labeled wheat germ agglutinin (WGA) or fixed electron microscopy...

The nuclear pore complexes (NPCs), multiprotein assemblies embedded in the envelope, conduct nucleo‐cytoplasmic traffic of macromolecules. Mimics NPCs, called annulate lamellae (ALPCs), are usually found cytoplasmic membranous stacks oocytes and early embryonic cells. They believed to constitute storage compartments for excess premade nucleoporins. To evaluate extent which ALPCs store nucleoporins cells we took advantage syncytial Drosophila embryos, containing both AL rapidly proliferating...

Abstract Here we present the analysis of alternative splicing events on an example glioblastoma cell culture samples using a set computer tools in combination with database integration. The gene expression profiles were obtained from primary which isolated and processed for RNA extraction. Transcriptome profiling normal brain done by Illumina sequencing. significant differentially expressed exon-level probes their corresponding genes identified index method. D-glucuronyl C5-epimerase (GLCE) is a potential tumor-suppressor gene involved in heparan sulfate biosynthesis. GLCE expression significantly decreased breast tumors; however, the underlying molecular mechanisms remain unclear. This study examined possible epigenetic for inactivation cancer. Very little methylation of promoter region was detected tumors vivo and cancer cells (MCF7 T47D) vitro not altered by 5-deoxyazacytidine (5-aza-dC) treatment, suggesting that regulating expression....

Glioblastoma is the most aggressive type of brain tumors resistant to a number antitumor drugs. The problem therapy and drug treatment course complicated by extremely high heterogeneity in benign cell populations, random arrangement tumor cells, polymorphism their nuclei. pathogenesis gliomas needs be studied using modern cellular technologies, genome- transcriptome-wide technologies high-throughput sequencing, analysis gene expression on microarrays, methods bioinformatics find new targets....

Here, we report the complete genome sequences of two Newcastle disease virus (NDV) isolates, Adygea/duck/12/2008, from a wild duck in Russia, and Altai/pigeon/777/2010, pigeon Russia. Based on comparative sequence analysis F gene, these strains were classified as NDV class II, genotypes VIId VIb/2, respectively.

Boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) is based on the ability of boron-10 (10B) isotope to epithermal neutrons, as a result which becomes unstable and decays into kinetically active elements that destroy cells where nuclear reaction has occurred. The boron-carrying compounds—L-para-boronophenylalanine (BPA) sodium mercaptoundecahydro-closo-dodecaborate (BSH)—have low toxicity and, today, are only representatives such compounds approved for clinical trials. For effectiveness safety BNCT, boron...

Abstract The function of the gene gilgamesh (89B9‐12) encoding a casein kinase in Drosophila spermatogenesis was studied. chimeric Gilgamesh–GFP protein spermatocytes is cortically located. In polar and apolar spermatocytes, it concentrates at terminal ends fusome, organelle that passes through system ring canals spermatocyte cyst. At stage spermatid elongation, associates with nucleus. A spot highest concentration nucleus co‐localizes γ‐tubulin basal body. later stages, Gilgamesh localized...

Arylamines and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are hazardous anthropogenic pollutants in the environment. The toxicity of PAHs, which include benzo(α)pyrene (BP), is mediated by activation Р450 cytochromes 1А subfamily (CYP1A1 CYP1A2). Previously, we have demonstrated that tocopherol, quercetin, menadione inhibit expression activity CYP1A liver male Wistar rats after administration a high BP dose to for 3 days.
