The species diversity of culturable endophytic fungi was studied in the leaves and twigs symptomatic asymptomatic Fraxinus excelsior trees. Endophytic mycobiota dominated by Ascomycota species, with Pleosporales (44.17%) Diaporthales (23.79%) endophytes being most frequently observed tree samples. number isolates richness varied depending on sampling date (May October) tissue location. Of 54 identified based ITS sequences, 14 were classified as dominant. isolated Diaporthe eres, followed...

Summary The occurrence and distribution of Dothistroma needle blight ( DNB ) were studied in 2014–2017 around Slovakia. A total 84 localities, both native planted, investigated, the presence was confirmed 73 them. In all positive locations, symptoms typical observed species using species‐specific primers either from fungal cultures or directly needles. Both species— D. septosporum pini —were identified. occurred together 29 only 42 two locations. host range included 10 pine spruce species....

Aim of the work was to study general characteristics and essential morphological traits pollen grains viz size, shape number, form position apertures in Diospyros kaki L.f., D. virginiana L., lotus L. species interspecies hybrid × kaki. Significant differences were detected among tested interspecific as well between individual genotypes lotus, especially equatorial axis.

Abstract Dothistroma needle blight (DNB) is a disease of pine needles. It causes significant defoliation affected trees; intensive attacks lead to damages the whole stand. The relationship trends in severity and intensity with climatic variables were studied three Austrian plantations (Jahodná, Kálnica, Litava) during 2014–2018. During monitoring period, greatest variability was observed top third crowns, which showed highest correlation variants most important conditions (temperature...

Lophodermium species are well known to be among the dominant endophytic fungi colonizing pine needles. The occurrence of two with different life strategies on Pinus trees across Slovakia was detected by PCR using species-specific primers. In general, commensalistic L. pinastri more frequent than parasitic seditiosum. There were no significant differences observed between urban and natural environments, but environments have colonization less negatively tested colonization. Among most...

Abstract Since 1976, when the first occurrence of chestnut blight caused by Cryphonectria parasitica was observed in locality Duchonka, West Slovakia, disease has spread to 43 new areas. Only areas and sites with a lower number trees are still without disease. In this study we have analysed records on different localities combination topographical characteristics (position, altitude, slope gradient, orientation) climatic data (air temperature, precipitation). The respective site appears not...

In recent years, there has been an apparent Europe-wide emerging presence of brown spot needle blight, a disease pine species caused by the fungus Lecanosticta acicola. this study, we report first well-documented occurrences pathogen in Slovakia, identified molecularly using species-specific primers and based on sequencing ITS region TEF1 gene. Among material collected from 84 locations within country, L. acicola was present 17 samples 13 different locations, mainly distributed urban...
