Surface electromyography (sEMG) can provide multiplexed information about muscle performance. If current sEMG electrodes are stretchable, arrayed, and able to be used multiple times, they would offer adequate high-quality data for continuous monitoring. The lack of these properties delays the widespread use in clinics everyday life. Here, we address constraints by design an adhesive dry electrode using tannic acid, polyvinyl alcohol, PEDOT:PSS (TPP). TPP offers superior stretchability...

Sadness can be a harbinger of serious medical conditions and primary manifestation depressive symptoms. Music is promising modality for regulating sadness, although its effect on participants, whether with or without long-term symptoms, remains unknown. In this study, the music sadness regulation was investigated using psychological physiological indicators between depressed non-depressed individuals. Data were collected from 149 participants (18 to 29 years old). The divided into two groups...

Diabetic wounds are serious clinical complications which manifest wet condition due to the mass exudate, along with disturbed regulation of inflammation, severe oxidative stress and repetitive bacterial infection. Existing treatments for diabetic remain unsatisfactory lack ideal dressings that encompass mechanical performance, adherence moist tissue surfaces, quick repair, diverse therapeutic benefits. Herein, we fabricated a adhesive, self-healing, glucose-responsive drug releasing hydrogel...

Protein secondary structure prediction is a fundamental and important component in the analytical study of protein functions. The technique has been developed for several decades. Chou-Fasman algorithm, one earliest methods, successfully applied to prediction. However, this method its limitations due low accuracy, unreliable parameters, over Thanks recent development folding type-specific propensities wavelet transformation, shortcomings are able be overcome. We improved three aspects. (a)...

Prompted by alleviating the random perturbation of underwater channel and enhancing performance for orbital angular momentum (OAM) -based wireless optical communication (UWOC), quasi-Airy Hypergeometric-Gaussian (QAHyGG) vortex beam is first proposed demonstrated. Moreover, an model modified more accurate simulated results propagation property various beams. Based on model, transmission three different OAM-carrying beams (the Gauss (GV) beam, (HyGG) QAHyGG beam) are comparatively studied. In...

Major depressive disorder (MDD) in adolescents is often underdiagnosed, with the current diagnosis predominantly relying on subjective assessment. Sleep disturbance and reduced heart rate variability (HRV) have been typically observed MDD. This study aimed to develop an automatic classification model based nocturnal HRV features identify adolescent Sixty-three subjects, including depressed healthy controls, participated completed a three-night sleep electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring,...

Two high resolution flash LIDAR systems based on polarization modulation are demonstrated in this paper. One utilizes a beam splitter (PBS) and two charge coupled device (CCD) arrays; the other micro-polarizer array CCD array. Compared with traditional systems, main advantage of presented is replacing bandwidth detectors modulator low detectors. The used to modulate state received laser pulse time range information can be mapped into intensity by distance between target system derived from...

The ability to continuously and reversibly tune the band gap strain–photonic coupling effect in optoelectronic materials is highly desirable for fundamentally understanding mechanism of strain engineering its applications semiconductors. However, (i.e., GaAs) with their natural brittleness cannot be subject direct mechanical loading processes, such as tension or compression. Here, we report a strategy induce continuous distribution GaAs nanoribbons by applying structural buckling. Wavy are...

Wrinkle configurations can provide brittle Si ribbons with excellent stretchability via mechanical buckling. We propose a strategy using micro-patterns to control the wrinkle in 'pop-up' and 'pop-down' styles, as well wrinkle's wavelength. After configuration is stretched flat, will deform buffer ribbons, which enhances additional of such structures. The experimental results show that determine their reach 51.2%. analytical modeling FEM simulation reveal mechanism phenomenon.

Compared with traditional methods, computational fluid dynamics–population balance model (CFD–PBM) simulations are much more efficient for the design of extractors. In this study, CFD–PBM framework was established a pilot-scale rotating-disk contactor. The Euler–Euler approach incorporated realizable k–ε used two-phase simulation. For droplet coalescence and breakage, predictive closures based on Luo Svendsen were employed further verification. species transport also solved to estimate axial...
