Previous studies have proposed that higher blood pressure (BP) in winter is an important cause of increased mortality from cardiovascular disease during the winter. Some observational and physiological shown cold exposure increases BP, but evidence a randomised controlled study assessing effectiveness intensive room heating for lowering BP was lacking. The present aimed to determine whether decreases ambulatory as compared with weak resulting 10°C lower target temperature when sufficient...
Ki-67, cytokeratin 13, and/or 17 detection by immunohistochemistry has been reported to be useful for the diagnosis of oral precancerous lesions. However, use these markers remains controversial because lack appropriately designed statistical studies. We assessed hypothesis that or could facilitate lesions predict prognosis.Epithelial dysplasia was classified as low grade (none mild dysplasia) high (moderate dysplasia, severe carcinoma in situ). This study included 58 low-grade and 36...
We have treated osteochondral lesions of the talus using cortical bone pegs. examined 27 ankles (27 patients) after a mean follow-up 7.0 years (2 to 18.8). The age patients was 27.8 (12 62). An unstable fragment or osteosclerotic changes in bed were regarded as indications for procedure. clinical results good 24 (89%) and fair three (11%); none had poor result. There also radiological improvement ankles. Repair articular surface stability lesion can be achieved even chronic lesions.
We lengthened seven first metatarsals in four patients with short great toes by callus distraction using an external fixator. Good clinical and cosmetic results were obtained. Bone lengthening is effective not only for cosmesis, but also to relieve pain callosities on the plantar aspect of second third metatarsal heads. Excessive resulted limitation range movement metatarsophalangeal joint toe. To prevent this amount should exceed 40% preoperative length metatarsal.
Spinal cord ischemic injury is the most devastating sequela of descending and thoracoabdominal aortic surgery. Motor-evoked potentials (MEPs) have been used to intraoperatively assess motor tract function, but it remains unclear whether MEP monitoring can decrease incidence postoperative deficits. Therefore, we reviewed multicenter medical records patients who had undergone repair (both open surgery endovascular repair) association with deficits.Patients included in study underwent or at 12...
Objective The 15D is a self-administered questionnaire for assessment of health-related quality life, which contains 15 questions with 5 response options each. This study was conducted to evaluate the reliability and validity Japanese 15D. Methods subjects were 430 community-dwelling elderly people.
