Abstract Objective: To educate physician trainees using simulation on best management of children with autism spectrum disorder who have neurocognitive and behavioral challenges when experiencing acute illness. Method: A simulation-based curriculum including baseline assessment, communication techniques, use calming resources was developed to residents in assessing sensory barriers. OBJECTIVES To describe the quality of pediatric resuscitative care in general emergency departments (GEDs) and to determine hospital-level factors associated with higher quality. METHODS Prospective observational study provided 3 situ simulated patients (infant seizure, infant sepsis, child cardiac arrest) by interprofessional GED teams. A composite score (CQS) was measured association this modifiable nonmodifiable explored. RESULTS median CQS 62.8 100 (interquartile range 50.5–71.1) noted...

Paediatric cardiopulmonary arrest resuscitation is a critically important skill but infrequently used in clinical practice. Therefore, knowledge relies heavily on formal training which vulnerable to rapid decay. We evaluate and retention post-training using cycle deliberate practice (RCDP).Pilot, non-blinded, single-arm study.Pediatric Simulation Center at Children's of Alabama.42 paediatric residents large, tertiary care, academic children's hospital were enrolled this simulation-based...

The impact of booster training on pediatric resuscitation skills is not well understood. Rapid cycle deliberate practice (RCDP) to supplement advanced life support (PALS) beginning be used improve skills. We tested the RCDP performed at 9 months after initial residents. This study evaluated a 9-month PALS compared with usual debriefing (plus/delta) an session for PALS-certified interns. All interns single institution were invited 45-minute their certification. performance score and times key...

Background Delayed or inadequate cardiopulmonary resuscitation during arrest is associated with adverse outcomes in pediatric patients. Therefore, a “First Five Minutes” program was developed to train all inpatient acute care nurses skills. The focused on steps take the first 5 minutes. Objective To improve response of bedside personnel few minutes emergency. Coaches improve cardiopulmonary (CPR) outcomes in real-world and simulated settings. To explore verbal feedback that targets CPR quality, we used natural language processing (NLP) methodologies on transcripts from a published pediatric randomized trial (coach vs. no coach CPR). Study objectives included determining any differences by arm (1) overall communication (2) metrics over minutes of (3) exploring frequencies temporal patterns according to degrees excellence.A human-generated...

Early recognition of and prompt intervention for the deteriorating pediatric patient remains paramount in preventing cardiac arrests from occurring outside intensive care units. To decrease these events, we developed a three-part simulation-based blended learning course consisting computer-based training module, simulation scenario, follow-up situ scenarios inpatient nurses. After initiation course, our facility has seen number codes critical areas.
