Abstract Alzheimer’s disease (AD) affects half the US population over age of 85 and is universally fatal following an average course 10 years progressive cognitive disability. Genetic genome-wide association studies (GWAS) have identified about 33 risk factor genes for common, late-onset AD (LOAD), but these loci fail to account majority affected cases can neither provide clinically meaningful prediction development nor offer actionable mechanisms. This cohort study generated large-scale...

Abstract An integrative multi-omics database is needed urgently, because focusing only on analysis of one-dimensional data falls far short providing an understanding cancer. Previously, we presented DriverDB, a cancer driver gene that applies published bioinformatics algorithms to identify genes/mutations. The updated DriverDBv3 (http://ngs.ym.edu.tw/driverdb) designed interpret omics’ sophisticated information with concise visualization. To offer diverse insights into molecular...

Metabolites, the biochemical products of cellular process, can be used to measure alterations in pathways related pathogenesis Alzheimer's disease (AD). However, relationships between systemic abnormalities metabolism and AD are poorly understood. In this study, we aim identify AD-specific metabolomic changes their potential upstream genetic transcriptional regulators through an integrative systems biology framework for analyzing genetic, transcriptomic, metabolomic, proteomic data AD....

Abstract Genetic recombination is a very important evolutionary mechanism that mixes parental haplotypes and produces new raw material for organismal evolution. As result, information on rates critical biological research. In this paper, we introduce extremely fast open-source software package (FastEPRR) uses machine learning to estimate rate ρ (=4Ner) from intraspecific DNA polymorphism data. When ρ>10 the number of sampled diploid individuals large enough (≥50), variance ρFastEPRR...

Femur fracture is a type of with high disability and mortality. There no comprehensive analysis prediction the global distribution femur fractures, so we conducted this study. Age-standardized incidence rate (ASIR), age-standardized prevalence (ASPR), years living (YLDs) fractures (excluding femoral neck) were downloaded from Global burden disease database. Trend was performed, 6 time-series machine learning algorithms applied to predict ASIR, ASPR, YLDs. ASPR for had been increasing in most...

The geographic origin and migration of the brown rat (Rattus norvegicus) remain subjects considerable debate. In this study, we sequenced whole genomes 110 wild rats with a diverse world-wide representation. We reveal that migrated out southern East Asia, rather than northern Asia as formerly suggested, into Middle then to Europe Africa, thousands years ago. Comparison from different geographical populations reveals many genes involved in immune system experienced positive selection rat.

Caerulomycins (CAEs) and collismycins (COLs), which mainly differ in sulfur decoration, are two groups of structurally similar natural products containing a 2,2'-bipyridine (2,2'-BP) core, derivatives have been widely used chemistry. The biosynthetic pathways CAEs COLs remain elusive. In this work, cloning the CAE gene cluster allowed us to mine highly conserved encoding COL biosynthesis Streptomyces strain that was previously unknown as 2,2'-BP producer. vitro vivo investigations into...

Glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase 1 (GPD1) gene defect can cause hypertriglyceridemia (HTG), which usually occurs in infants. The has rarely been reported adult HTG patients. In the present study, we described clinical and functional analyses of a novel GPD1 missense variant Chinese patient with recurrent hypertriglyceridemia‑related acute pancreatitis (HTG-AP), consuming high-fat diet smoking heavily. The cell wall is the primary cellular structure that encounters and perceives Al³⁺, acting as first line of defense against aluminum (Al) toxicity. Xyloglucan endotransglucosylase/hydrolase (XTH) plays a pivotal role in mediating remodeling, critical mechanism for Al toxicity tolerance. In our previous studies, candidate gene BnaXTH22 was identified through GWAS RNA-seq analyses. Under stress, overexpression lines (OEs) exhibited significant increase relative elongation taproots...

The traditionally accepted relationships among basal jawed vertebrates have been challenged by some molecular phylogenetic analyses based on mitochondrial sequences. Lungfish bichir are found in a position the branch. Based transcriptomes of an armored (Polypterus delhezi) African lungfish (Protopterus sp.) we generated, expressed...
