A systematic study of extraction efficiency polyphenolic compounds from the most widespread Boraginaceae species was carried out. The optimal achieved with 50 % (V/V) methanol for phenolic acids and flavonoids, 0.2 HCl in anthocyanins pure water flavan-3-ols. distribution diversity plant material obtained wild-growing Anchusa officinalis, Cynoglossum creticum Mill., Echium vulgare, italicum, Onosma heterophylla Griseb. Macedonia also assessed. These contain acid derivatives, flavan-3-ols...
Allchar mine is an abandoned arsenic-antimony-thallium deposit located on the northwestern part of Kozuf Mt., Republic Macedonia. a unique within world, due to variety its mineral composition especially and in high content thallium. The aim this work was assess level contamination at post-mining area as well determine intensity accumulation various elements (Ag, Al, As, Ba, Ca, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Ga, K, Li, Mg, Mn, Mo, Na, Ni, P, Pb, Rb, S, Sb, Sr, Tl, V, Zn) with focus Sb two endemic Viola...
The essential oils of two species Sideritis growing spontaneously in Bulgaria and Macedonia are reported, scardica raeseri. S. from different locations differed significantly: the Macedonian sample alpha-cadinol (20%) predominated, while oil Bulgarian samples main components were diterpenic compounds octadecenol (over 20%). This is first report ditrpenoids scardica. raeseri demonstrated a distinct chemical profile with its high concentration sesquiterpenes, being germacrone (25%) elemol...
The aerial parts of three endemic Centaurea L. species, namely C. tomorosii Micevski, soskae Hayek and galicicae afforded sesquiterpene lactone cnicin (1) seven flavonoids: apigenin (2), isokaempferide (3), hispidulin (4), eupatorin (5), cirsimaritin (6), santaflavone (7) salvigenin (8). structures the isolated compounds were determined by UV, 1H NMR 13C spectroscopy HR-ESI-MS spectrometry. was used as a method for quantitative analysis cnicin.
The Allchar district is an abandoned antimony–arsenic–thallium deposit located in the north-western region of Kožuf mountain Republic Macedonia. locality has a complex and unique mineral composition. current study sought to investigate levels uptake distribution different heavy metals, such as As, Sb Tl, organs Thymus alsarensis Ronniger, endemic plant species area. Root, stem, leaf flower samples, well corresponding soils, were processed, digested then analysed by inductively coupled plasma...
Thymus jankae Cel. and pulegioides L. subsp. montanus (W.K.) Ronn growing wild in Kosovo have been analyzed for their volatile chemical profile using GC-MS technique. The essential oil of the plants was obtained by hydrodistillation with Clevenger apparatus. Essential two samples T. resulted yields 0.60 % 0.72 respectively, while yield 1.58 on dried weight. Exactly fifty-eight compounds were identified all three samples. Two chemotypes from studied samples: thymol chemotype 45.78 thymol,...
Abstract An oil composition of T. albanus ssp. H. Braun was analyzed by GC and GC/MS. Thirty five components were identified representing 81.0% the oil. (E)-Nerolidol (20.3–48.4%) β-caryophyllene (14.9–18.0%) most abundant constituents.
A study of the trichomes types and distribution pollen morphology was carried out in nine Micromeria taxa (M. cristata ssp. cristata, M. kosaninii, croatica, graeca graeca, fruticulosa, juliana, kerneri, longipedunculata microphylla) five closely related Clinopodium species (C. dalmaticum, C. frivaldszkyanum, pulegium, serpyllifolium thymifolium) from Lamiaceae family Balkan Peninsula. By scanning electron microscope, non-glandular trichomes, peltate capitate were observed on calyx, leaves...
A study of the phytochemical and molecular characteristics ten Micromeria six Clinopodium taxa (family Lamiaceae) distributed in Balkan Peninsula was carried out. The phytochemicals detected essential oils by gas chromatography, mass spectrometry, data amplified fragment length polymorphism were used to taxonomic relationships among correlations between data. STRUCTURE analysis revealed three genetic groups, while Bayesian Analysis Population Structure grouped studied into 11 clusters nested...
Abstract Water-distilled oils from herbal parts of Thymus jankae var. jankae, T. pantotrichus and patentipilus were subjected to GC GC/MS analyses. More than 35 compounds identified, representing 84.4–93.6% the oils. The major oil constituents found be linalool (28.1–35.6%) geranial (15.3–24.9%). contained higher amounts α-terpinyl acetate, while other two varieties, wax. patentipilus, much more β-pinene.
This research was aimed at investigating polyphenolic content, antioxidant and anti-neurodegenerative activities of post-distillation waste extracts Macedonian Salvia amplexicaulis, S. jurisicii ringens, for the first time. Total phenolic flavonoid contents varied in a broad range (3.92-146.49 mg GAE/g 7.11-67.51 QE/g, respectively), with highest values obtained amplexicaulis ringens extracts. Certain neutralized more than 80% DPPH radicals concentration, while showed up to ≈50% inhibition...
Abstract An essential oil composition of Thymus rohlenae Velen. was analyzed by GC and GC/MS. Twenty-seven components were identified representing 95.4% the oil. p-Cymene (33.3%) γ-terpinene (11.8%) most abundant constituents.
