Proton/sulfate cotransporters in the plasma membranes are responsible for uptake of environmental sulfate used assimilation pathway plants. Here we report cloning and characterization an Arabidopsis thaliana gene, AST68 , a new member transporter gene family higher Sequence analysis cDNA genomic clones revealed that is composed 10 exons encoding 677-aa polypeptide (74.1 kDa) able to functionally complement Saccharomyces cerevisiae mutant lacking gene. Southern hybridization restriction...

The current study aimed to examine the effectiveness of a new career education course, "Career Development Theory," at medical university. This course is designed enable students plan their careers and consider various options. class was introduced improve students' entrepreneurial qualities broaden choices. research methods included survey measure before after attending an analysis reports what they had learned from class. The acute toxicity of endocrine disrupters in two crustaceans, Americamysis bahia (A. bahia) and Daphnia magna (D. magna), was investigated the toxicological responses compared. Bisphenol A had lowest to D. magna, 48 hr median lethal concentrations (LC50) values 12.8 mg/l. However, toxic sensitivity A. bisphenol approximately 10-fold higher than for (48 LC50; 1.34 mg/l). LC50 estradiol-17β 2.97 1.69 mg/l bahia, respectively. Nonylphenol highest against both 0.051 mg/l) 0.18 ecdysteroids,...

To examine 4-week toxicity of l-methionine (methionine), 5-week-old Fisher strain male rats were fed on diets containing 0, 0.1, 0.3, 0.9, 2.7 (w/w) added methionine. Although no deaths recorded, the highest dose methionine (2.7% [w/w] diet) reduced food intake and significantly suppressed growth rate. Growth suppression was characterized by an increase in hemolysis, splenic, hepatic accumulation hemosiderin, hemolytic anemia, promotion hematopoiesis. Other changes observed group a decrease...

Administration of maitotoxin (MTX), a dinoflagellate toxin, caused aggregation rabbit washed platelets. The cytosolic Ca 2+ concentration ([Ca ] i ), measured by fura‐2 fluorescence technique, was also increased the presence MTX. Rates response and [Ca ‐increase were dependent on tested concentrations (3–100 ng ml −1 ) toxin. MTX‐induced platelet totally abolished in ‐free solution. successive administration MTX elicited increase . Ba capable substituting for aggregation. In external ,...

Non-24-hour sleep-wake rhythm disorder (N24SWD) occurs when the intrinsic circadian pacemaker does not entrain (synchronize) to 24-hour light/dark cycle. There is currently no established treatment for sighted patients with N24SWD. To best of our knowledge, there have been very few reports on efficacy ramelteon administered We report case a patient N24SWD whose free-running pattern recorded by actigraphy was stopped after administration low dose combined behavioral education.

Delayed sleep phase disorder (DSPD) and mood disorders have a close relationship. However, the shared mechanisms by DSPD not been well-elucidated. We previously found that micro-fluctuations in human behaviors are organized robust statistical laws (behavioral organization), where cumulative distributions of resting active period durations take power-law distribution form stretched exponential functional form, respectively. Further, we scaling exponents significantly decreased major...

Abstract Although plants have several advantages for foreign protein production, cultivation of transgenic in artificial plant growth facilities involves the use a great amount electricity lightning and air conditioning, reducing cost-effectiveness. Protein production grown darkness can overcome this problem, but produced dark is unknown. In study, total soluble rice seedlings germinated light or were examined at time points after germination under different temperature, nutritional,...
