The plant growth-repressing DELLA proteins (DELLAs) are known to represent a convergence point in integration of multiple developmental and environmental signals planta, one which is hormone gibberellic acid (GA). Binding the liganded GA receptor (GID1/GA) N-terminal domain DELLAs required for GA-induced degradation via ubiquitin-proteasome pathway, thus derepressing growth. However, conformational changes upon binding GID1/GA, key understanding precise mechanism GID1/GA-mediated DELLAs,...

Bacteriocins are bacterial peptides with specific activity against competing species. They hold great potential as natural preservatives and for their probiotic effects. We show here nuclear magnetic resonance-based evidence that glycocin F, a 43-amino acid bacteriocin from Lactobacillus plantarum, contains two β-linked N-acetylglucosamine moieties, attached via side chain linkages to serine oxygen, cysteine sulfur. The latter linkage is novel has helped establish new type of...

Yeast cells of Candida albicans are induced by serum at 37 °C to produce germ tubes, the first step in a transition from yeast hyphal growth. Previously, it has been shown that active component is not albumin but present dialysable fraction serum. In this study, induction germ-tube formation occur even presence added exogenous nitrogen sources and therefore signalled derepression. The anthocyanins responsible for the red color of kiwifruit were extracted in acidified ethanol and isolated by solid phase extraction (SPE) followed preparative HPLC. Five obtained subsequently identified as delphinidin 3-[2-(xylosyl)galactoside], 3-galactoside, cyanidin 3-glucoside a combination LC-MS/MS, GC-MS, 2D NMR. Delphinidin 3-[2-(xylosyl)galactoside] 3-galactoside have not previously been reported genus Actinidia.

The synthesis and characterization of the fluxional, d(10) cyclotriphosphazene complexes, [MLCl(2)] (M = Zn, Cd, Hg; L spiro-[(1,1'-biphenyl)-2,2'-dioxy]tetrakis(4-methyl-2-pyridyloxy)cyclotriphosphazene), are described. Single-crystal X-ray structures show that zinc complex has crystallized into two crystal forms: one as a tetrahedral species, with N(2)Cl(2) donor set in which geminal pair pendant pyridyloxy nitrogen atoms binds to zinc, other trigonal-bipyramidal (tbp) one, an N(3)Cl(2)...

NMR was used to study the thermodynamics of cis → trans isomerization for prolyl amide bonds in compounds shown. The magnitude Kt/c C-terminal esters is greater than corresponding amides, signifying stronger backbone stereoelectronic effects esters. Increasing steric bulk N-terminal residue from Ac- Ac-Gly- favors conformation. Incorporation a Phe Pro, however, shifts equilibrium favor conformation, via stabilizing aromatic−proline interaction.
