To undertake a Spanish nationwide survey on Pseudomonas aeruginosa molecular epidemiology and antimicrobial resistance. Up to 30 consecutive healthcare-associated P. isolates collected in 2017 from each of 51 hospitals were studied. MICs 13 antipseudomonal agents determined by broth microdilution. Horizontally acquired β-lactamases detected phenotypic methods PCR. Clonal was evaluated through PFGE MLST; at least one XDR isolate clone hospital (n = 185) sequenced. The most active...
Imipenem and imipenem-relebactam MICs were determined for 1,445 Pseudomonas aeruginosa clinical isolates a large panel of isogenic mutants showing the most relevant mutation-driven β-lactam resistance mechanisms. Imipenem-relebactam showed highest susceptibility rate (97.3%), followed by colistin ceftolozane-tazobactam (both 94.6%).
Background Soil Transmitted Helminth (STH) infections negatively impact physical and mental development in human populations. Current WHO guidelines recommend morbidity control of these through mass drug administration (MDA) using albendazole (ABZ) or mebendazole. Despite major reductions STH associated globally, not all programs have demonstrated the expected on prevalence parasite infections. These therapeutic failures may be related to poor programmatic coverage, suboptimal adherence...
The goals were to determine the ivermectin (IVM) plasma pharmacokinetics, tissue and egg residue profiles, in vitro metabolism laying hens. Experiments conducted (1) 8 hens intravenously treated with IVM blood samples taken; (2) 88 administered daily water (5 days) (40 kept their eggs collected; 48 sacrificed groups (n = 8) at different times taken analyzed); (3) biotransformation was studied liver microsomes. Pharmacokinetic parameters AUC 85.1 ng·day/mL, Vdss 4.43 L/kg, T1/2el 1.73 days....
In the search for novel influenza inhibitors we evaluated 7-fluoro-substituted indoles as bioisosteric replacements 7-azaindole scaffold of Pimodivir, a PB2 (polymerase basic protein 2) inhibitor currently in clinical development. Specifically, 5,7-difluoroindole derivative 11a was identified potent and metabolically stable inhibitor. demonstrated favorable oral pharmacokinetic profile vivo efficacy mice. addition, it found that not at risk metabolism via aldehyde oxidase, an advantage over...
Abstract Objectives To evaluate the correlation of O-antigen serotypes with resistance profiles and high-risk clones in a Spanish nationwide survey. Methods Up to 30 consecutive healthcare-associated Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolates were collected during October 2017 from each 51 hospitals (covering all regions) total 1445 studied. MICs 13 antipseudomonal agents MDR/XDR had been previously determined, as well whole-genome sequences 185 representative XDR isolates. (O1–O16) determined by...
Flubendazole (FLBZ) is a broad spectrum benzimidazole methylcarbamate anthelmintic widely used in poultry and swine. However, there no information available on the pharmacological behaviour of FLBZ ruminants. The work reported here was addressed to evaluate potential for use sheep. integrated assessment included evaluation metabolites plasma disposition kinetics, liver metabolism ex vivo ability diffuse into cestode parasite Moniezia benedeni . In cross‐over kinetic study, six healthy...
Flubendazole (FLBZ) is a poor water solubility broad-spectrum BZD methylcarbamate anthelmintic compound. Cyclodextrins (CDs) are usually used to increase aqueous of hydrosoluble compounds. The comparative in vitro FLBZ and other anthelmintics the presence hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin (HPβCD) was evaluated current work. Additionally, pharmacokinetic behaviour (and its metabolites) administered by intraruminal (i.r.) or intraabomasal (i.a.) routes sheep as either an CDs-based solution...
