The interaction of the cold atmospheric plasma jet with fibroblast cells was studied. Plasma initiated in helium flow blowing through syringe by application high ac voltage to discharge electrodes. had a length 5cm and diameter 1.5–2mm ambient air. Treatment resulted decreasing cell migration rate, detachment, appearance “frozen” cells, while treatment (no plasma) frozen only. A variety cellular responses explained different intensities treatment.

The utilization of bedside ultrasound by an increasing number medical specialties has created the need for more exposure and teaching in school. Although there is a widespread support vertical integration throughout undergraduate curriculum, little known about whether quality differs if performed anatomists or clinicians. purpose this study to compare students' evaluation anatomy clinicians anatomists. Hands-on interactive sessions were scheduled as part gross course following principles...

Abstract The effects induced in cells due to treatment with cold atmospheric plasma jet are studied. Cell migration rate is measured by means of time‐lapse microscopy. In order characterize cell surface integrin expression, the fluorescent response after integrins stained specific antibodies flow cytometry. We show that affects on sub‐cellular level, namely decreases expression ( β 1 and α v were tested). This change might be original cause for observed cellular such as reduced detachment...

We have reported previously that syndecan-1 (Sdc1)-null mice show delayed re-epithelialization after skin and corneal wounding. Here, we primary keratinocytes obtained from Sdc1-null grown for 3-5 days in culture are more proliferative, adherent migrate slowly than wt keratinocytes. However, the migration rates of can be restored to wild-type levels by replating onto tissue plates coated with fibronectin collagen I, laminin (LN)-332 or matrices produced cells. Migration also treating...

Surgical anatomy is taught early in medical school training. The literature shows that many physicians, especially surgical specialists, think anatomical knowledge of students inadequate and nesting sciences later the clinical curriculum may be necessary. Quantitative data concerning this perception an deficit are lacking, as specifics to what content should reinforced. This study identifies baseline areas strength weakness entering rotations. Third‐year completed a 20–25‐question test at...

Although the main regulators of leukocyte trafficking are chemokines, another family chemotactic agents is cyclophilins. Intracellular cyclophilins function as peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerases and targets immunosuppressive drug cyclosporine A (CsA). Cyclophilins can also be secreted in response to stress factors, with elevated levels extracellular detected several inflammatory diseases. Extracellular known have potent properties, suggesting that they might contribute responses by...

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), a continuum of chronic inflammatory diseases, is tightly associated with immune system dysregulation and dysbiosis, leading to inflammation in the gastrointestinal tract (GIT) multiple extraintestinal manifestations. The pathogenesis IBD not completely elucidated. However, it an increased risk colorectal cancer (CRC), which one most common malignancies. In both CRC, complex interplay occurs between gut microbiota (GM), alteration GM composition. Melatonin,...

Asthma is a chronic inflammatory condition of the lower respiratory tract associated with airway hyperreactivity and mucus obstruction in which majority cases are due to an allergic response environmental allergens. Glucocorticoids such as prednisone have been standard treatment for many diseases past 60 years. However, despite their effectiveness, long-term often limited by adverse side effects believed be caused glucocorticoid receptor-mediated gene transcription. This has led pursuit...

ABSTRACT The myofibroblast, a major component of granulation tissue, is key cell during wound healing, tissue repair and connective remodelling. Persistence myofibroblasts within fibrotic lesion leads to excessive scarring impairing function aesthetics. Various wound‐healing cytokines can be modulated by topical application active agents promote optimal healing improve scar quality. Thus, the myofibroblast may represent an important target for modulation evolution conditions such as...

Allergic asthma is characterized by acute influxes of proinflammatory leukocytes in response to allergen stimulation, followed quiescent (chronic) periods between challenges, during which sustained, low-level inflammation evident. These chronic phases disease are thought be mediated populations persisting within airways and tissues.
