Feeding and sleep are fundamental behaviours with significant interconnections cross-modulations. The circadian system peptidergic signals important components of this modulation, but still little is known about the mechanisms networks by which they interact to regulate feeding sleep. We show that specific thermogenetic activation Allatostatin A (AstA)-expressing PLP neurons enteroendocrine cells reduces promotes in fruit fly Drosophila. effects AstA cell mediated peptides receptors homolog...

Abstract Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is characterized by emotional hypermnesia on which preclinical studies focus so far. While this relates to salient traumatic cues, partial amnesia for the context can also be observed. Here, we show in mice that contextual causally involved PTSD-like memory formation, and treating re-exposure all trauma-related cues cures hypermnesia. These findings open a therapeutic perspective based trauma contextualization underlying hippocampal mechanisms.

Temporal binding, the process that enables association between discontiguous stimuli in memory, and relational organization, a flexibility of declarative memories, are both hippocampus-dependent decline aging. However, how these two processes related supporting memory formation they compromised age-related loss remain hypothetical. We here identify causal link features memory: binding is necessary condition for organization events. demonstrate limited by capability temporal which depends on...

The Drosophila ATP7 copper transporter has sequence homology to the human transporters ATP7A and ATP7B, which are defective in Menkes Wilson disease, respectively. We show here that is expressed by many peptidergic neurons. As C‐terminal amidation of neuropeptides depends on copper‐containing enzyme PHM, it seemed likely absence activity PHM might be compromised. Indeed, inhibition expression RNAi led a decrease mature amidated appearance C‐terminally Gly‐extended neuropeptides. strength...

Abstract GluN2B subunits of NMDA receptors have been proposed as a target for treating age‐related memory decline. They are indeed considered crucial hippocampal synaptic plasticity and hippocampus‐dependent formation, which both altered in aging. Because enrichment is associated with LTP vitro, similar mechanism expected to occur during formation. We show instead that reduction localization induced by single‐session learning dorsal CA1 apical dendrites predictive efficient memorization...

One of the cardinal features post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a paradoxical memory alteration including both emotional hypermnesia for salient trauma-related cues and amnesia surrounding traumatic context. Interestingly, some clinical studies have suggested that contextual would causally contribute to PTSD-related insofar as decontextualized, prone be reactivated in contexts can very different from original However, most current animal models focus exclusively on hypermnesia, i.e.,...
