Background The emergence of breast-conserving surgery combined with radiotherapy as the treatment choice for early stage breast cancer has resulted in greater focus on oncoplastic surgery. use perforator flaps particularly gained reputation its effectiveness reconstruction partial defects Korean women. Herein, we present our experience thoracodorsal artery (TDAP) and lateral intercostal (LICAP) flaps. Methods This study included 33 patients who underwent using TDAP or LICAP at hospital from...

Immediate partial breast reconstruction after breast-conserving surgery has become a new paradigm in treating cancer. Among the volume replacement techniques used for small to moderate-sized breasts, perforator flap method many advantages. The authors present anatomical studies and two surgical using lateral intercostal artery flaps.Data from 40 patients who underwent between January of 2011 June 2016 were included. conducted comparative analyses propeller turnover flap. Pseudoangiomatous stromal hyperplasia (PASH) is a benign proliferative mesenchymal lesion of the breast. PASH presents as palpable or mammographically detectable mass an incidental microscopic finding in up to 23% breast biopsies. Its pathogenesis unclear but may involve hormonal factors, recently postulated. clinical, cytological, and radiological characteristics resemble those other tumors, including low-grade angiosarcomas phyllodes tumors. Because its uncertain pathogenesis, usually...

As the availability of breast reconstruction using implants is becoming widespread and many implant recipients undergo radiation therapy, there an increasing interest in understanding potential complications associated with capsule-tissue interactions response to irradiation. Accordingly, our medical institution designed animal experiment investigate effects irradiation on capsular contracture. A total 40 mice (C57BL6) were divided into four groups according whether or not they received time...

Among autologous breast reconstruction techniques, using the latissimus dorsi musculocutaneous flap is widely used, offering advantages including relative simplicity of procedure and reliable consistent vascularity flap. Accordingly, more than 500 cases have been performed in past 8 years at Kyungpook National University Medical Center. This study reports on a rare case involving radial nerve neuropathy complication which was experienced for first time medical center. The current...
