The fluctuating magnetic helicity is considered an important parameter in diagnosing the characteristic modes of solar wind turbulence. Among them Alfvén-cyclotron wave, which probably responsible for plasma heating, but has not yet been identified from Here, we present possible signatures waves distribution as a function θVB, angle between velocity and local mean field. We use field data STEREO spacecraft to calculate θVB normalized reduced σm. find dominant negative σm 1 s < p 4 (p time...
To determine the wave modes prevailing in solar wind turbulence at kinetic scales, we study magnetic polarization of small-scale fluctuations plane perpendicular to data sampling direction (namely, flow direction, ) and analyze its orientation with respect local background field . As an example, take only measurements made outward sector. When is quasi-perpendicular , find that magnetic-field fluctuations, which have periods from about 1 3 s are extracted a wavelet decomposition original...
Abstract In particular during the descending phase of solar cycle, Alfvén waves in high-speed wind streams are a major form interplanetary disturbances. The fluctuating southward magnetic field (IMF) has been suggested to induce geomagnetic activities through intermittent reconnection at magnetopause. this study, we provide situ observational evidence for dayside magnetopause induced by such waves. Using multipoint conjunction observations, show that IMF B z from is transmitted and amplified...

This work focuses on the relation between electron density and magnetic field strength in solar wind, aims to reveal its compressive nature determine level of compressibility. For this purpose, we choose a period quiet wind data obtained at 1 AU by Cluster C1 satellite. The is derived with sampling time as high 0.2 s from spacecraft-potential measurements made Electric Field Waves instrument. We use wavelet cross-coherence method analyze correlation various scales. find dominant...
The angular distribution of the normalized reduced magnetic helicity density (σrm) in solar wind turbulence reveals two components distinct polarity different angle ranges. This kind two-component σrm may indicate possible wave modes and power spectral densities (PSDs) turbulent fluctuations. Here we model measured by assuming a PSD for Alfvén fluctuations wavevector space, then fit results to observations adjusting pattern distribution. It is found that form PSD, which has major minor...
Semiconducting single-walled carbon nanotube thin films can be obtained by conjugated polymer wrapping sorting technique followed solution deposition and utilized as channel materials of field-effect transistors absorbing layers photodiodes. However, after the process, there are still molecules around nanotubes, remaining between on thin-film surface, which will cause large nanotube-electrode resistance tube-tube resistance. Here, we demonstrate an yttrium oxide coating-and-decoating that...
Recently, small-scale pressure-balanced structures (PBSs) were identified in the solar wind, but their formation mechanism remains unclear. This work aims to reveal dependence of properties PBSs on background magnetic field (B0) direction and thus corroborate situ that forms them. We analyze plasma data obtained by WIND quiet wind at 1 AU. First, we use a developed moving-average method obtain B0(s, t) for every temporal scale (s) each time moment (t). By wavelet cross-coherence analysis,...
6H-SiC (silicon carbide) single crystals containing VSi-VC divacancies are investigated with respect to magnetic and structural properties. We found that an initial increase of disorder leads pronounced ferromagnetic properties at room temperature. Further introduction lowers the saturation magnetization is accompanied onset lattice amorphization. Close threshold full amorphization, also divacancy clusters formed nearly drops zero.
The interaction between interplanetary small-scale magnetic flux ropes and the field in ambient solar wind is an important topic understanding of evolution structures heliosphere. Through a survey 125 previously reported small from 1995 to 2005, we find that 44 them reveal clear signatures Alfvénic fluctuations thus classify as Alfvén wave trains rather than ropes. Signatures reconnection, generally including plasma jet ∼30 km s−1 within rotational region, are clearly present at boundaries...
This work presents in situ solar wind observations of three magnetic clouds (MCs) that contain cold high‐density material when Helios 2 was located at 0.3 AU on 9 May 1979, 0.5 30 March 1976, and 0.7 24 December 1978. In the regions embedded interplanetary coronal mass ejections we find (1) number density protons is higher than other inside cloud, (2) possible existence He + , (3) thermal velocity distribution functions are more isotropic appear to be colder MC, proton temperature lower...
Abstract We investigate the role of perpendicular diffusion in shaping energetic ion spectrum corotating interaction regions (CIRs), focusing on its mass-to-charge ( A / Q ) ratio dependence. simulate a synthetic CIR using EUropean Heliospheric FORecasting Information Asset and model subsequent acceleration transport by solving focused equation incorporating both parallel diffusion. Our results reveal distinct differences spectra between scenarios with without In absence diffusion, near CIRs...
In heterostructures of Cr 2 Ge Te 6 (CGT)/graphene, the anomalous Hall effect is clearly observed through experiments, which caused by spin polarization in graphene induced magnetic proximity effect.

Abstract This work quantitatively studies the differences of heavy ions among non-Alfvénic slow wind (N-ASSW), classical fast (FSW), and Alfvénic hot (ASSW AHSW) by effect size Kolmogorov–Smirnov statistic. Statistics ACE measurements in solar cycle 23 show that He/O Fe/O ASSW AHSW are significantly similar to those N-ASSW, but distinct from FSW. The mean Fe 16+ /Fe 13+ (AHSW) is middle two values FSW N-ASSW. However, three categories similarly low during minimum. Charges C O different...
Using solar-wind-magnetosphere-ionosphere conjunction observations, we investigate the geomagnetic responses to fluctuating IMF Bz from interplanetary Alfven waves. Interplanetary waves transmit intensified magnetosheath, leading intervals of large magnetic shear angles across magnetopause and reconnection. Such are promptly followed by hundreds nT increases in AE/AU index within 10-20 min. These observations confirmed multiple events corotating interaction region (CIR)-driven storms. To put...

The structural, optical, and magnetic properties of Cu-implanted GaN films have been investigated. No secondary phase was found within the resolution limit instrument but lattice defects such as vacancies were present in film. Room temperature ferromagnetism observed with saturation magnetization 0.3μB/Cu atom. field-cooled curves can be well fitted by a Curie-Weiss model standard three-dimensional spin-wave low high ranges, respectively. Our findings indicate that vacancylike should...
