This study was conducted to investigate the effectiveness of fish meal substitution by Chlorella vulgaris in diet Pacific white shrimp, Litopenaeus vannamei. Experimental diets contained varying levels (400, 300, 200, 100 and 0 g/kg) which replaced increasing C. (0, 97.2, 194.4, 291.6 388.8 g/kg). After 8 weeks feeding trial, shrimp fed with 97.2 g/kg showed significantly improved growth compared other treatments including control. Similarly, higher amount trypsin amylase activities...

In the this study, we evaluated effect of replacement fish meal by a marine microalgae Spirulina platensis on growth, digestive enzyme activities, fatty acid composition and responses to ammonia hypoxia stress in Pacific white shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei (2.6 ± 0.2 g). Experimental diets contained S. at 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% 100% levels. After 8 weeks feeding trial, growth parameters proximate body were not significantly different among treatments (p > .05). Amylase lipase activities did show...

The aim of this study was to use apple peel extract (APE) as antioxidant for inhibition lipid and protein oxidation in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) mince during refrigerated storage. Apple had high 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), 2,2′-azinobios-(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulphonic acid) (ABTS) hydroxyl radical scavenging activity ferric reducing power (FRAP) comparable ascorbic acid. Lipid effectively inhibited 96 h storage indicated by significantly lower peroxides...

The aim of this study was to examine the effects replacing fish meal with plant sources on growth performance, immune responses, hematological parameters and disease resistance in rainbow trout. In study, mean initial body weight 15±2 g experiment carried out for a period 60 days. Four experimental diets were formulated replace 0, 40, 70 100% protein (wheat gluten, corn gluten soybean meal). According results, higher inclusions (70 100%) resulted undesirable growth, nutritional indices,...

Abstract In this study, proximate and fatty acid composition in the edible flesh of eight underutilized five commercial freshwater fish species were compared order to evaluate potential these for development functional value‐added fishery products. The lipid content (% dry weight basis) investigated ranged from 3.44 9.25 3.73–7.68 species. comparison with species, had higher levels protein ( P < 0.05). high proportion EPA+DHA was found Goldfish (524 mg/100 g flesh), Wels (422 Crucian carp...
