The delayed healing of wounds among people with diabetes is a severe problem worldwide. Hyperglycemia and increased levels free radicals are the major inhibiting factors wound in diabetic patients. Plant extracts rich source polyphenols, allowing them to be an effective agent for healing. Drying temperature extraction solvent highly affect stability polyphenols plant materials. However, there need optimize protocol ensure efficacy final product. For this purpose, effects drying solvents on...

The wound-healing properties of Plantago major L. (plantain) were evaluated using an ex-vivo porcine model. Ethanol- and water-based extracts prepared from greenhouse-grown freeze-dried leaves P. major. Both types stimulated wound healing in skin, but the ethanol-based had a somewhat stronger effect. A concentration 1.0 mg/mL (on dry weight basis) produced best results for both extracts.
