Low back pain (LBP) is reported as an urgent public-health concern globally because it occurs in all age groups and now the leading cause of disability, with health systems unable to cope this burden. We present China's burden LBP by estimating its prevalence years lived disability (YLDs) from 1990 2019.
Neck pain has become very common in China and greatly affected individuals, families, society general. In this study, we aimed to report on the rates trends of prevalence, incidence, years lived with disability (YLDs) caused by neck general population from 1990 2019.
In Brief Study Design. A retrospective study was conducted. Objective. To investigate relationships between severe disc degeneration (SDD) and segmental instability in cervical spondylotic myelopathy (CSM) to discuss surgical treatment for CSM with degeneration. Summary of Background Data. Information on spinal cord compression is scarce. Methods. Radiographs magnetic resonance images patients (n = 42) without 75) SDD were reviewed retrospectively. Cervical factors analyzed. Outcomes...
To assess the mid-long-term follow-up of safety and efficacy anterior cervical discectomy fusion (ACDF), artificial disc replacement (CADR) hybrid surgery (HS) for bilevel degenerative disease (cDDD).77 patients who underwent ACDF, HS, CADR were retrospectively reviewed. Clinical effects evaluated based on Neck Disability Index (NDI), Visual Analog Scale (VAS), Japanese Orthopedic Association (JOA) scores Odom criteria. Radiographic outcomes evaluated, including range motion (ROM), ROM in...
Abstract Purpose To analyze the perioperative risk factors related to lumbar spine fusion surgery in elderly patients. Methods 202 patients (age range 77–92 years old) who have underwent spinal surgeries between January 2019 and June 2021 were retrospectively investigated. Information of age, sex, comorbidity, fixation segments, operation time, surgical blood loss complications during hospitalization collected. Risk for analyzed. Student’s t -test, chi-square test, Mann-Whitney U ‑test...
Abstract Background: Spinal injuries are an urgent public health priority; nevertheless, no China-wide studies of these exist. This study measured the incidence, prevalence, causes, regional distribution, and annual trends spinal in China from 1990 to 2019. Methods: We used data Global Burden Diseases, Injuries, Risk Factors Study 2019 estimate incidence prevalence China. The 33 provincial-level administrative regions (excluding Taiwan, China) provided by National Center for Chronic...
Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is a chronic autoimmune disease that affects the spine and peripheral joints, often leading to kyphosis, joint stiffness, even ankylosis. Sagittal parameters, such as total thoracic kyphosis (TTK), (TK), major (MTK), thoracolumbar (TLK), are crucial indices for evaluating spinal alignment in AS patients can reflect progression. This study aims explore relationship between bone mineral density (BMD), sagittal ankylosis patients. A retrospective was conducted on 147...
There are few researches on characterizing the sagittal alignment of degenerative thoracolumbar kyphosis (DTLK). In addition, debate reasonable surgical strategies, for various patterns DTLK, still continues. So, study was to identify features propose a novel classification and develop strategies this population. An overall 245 patients diagnosed with DTLK combined lumbar stenosis performed surgeries (acquired satisfied) were selected from January 2016 December 2022. The spino-pelvic...
Study Design. An exploratory study Objective. The purpose of this is to investigate the prevalence scoliosis in Linxia Prefecture, Gansu Province, China, and explore characteristics electronic devices school screening (SSS). Summary Background Data. Forward bend test Scoliometer are common methods for SSS. advantages 3-Dimensional (3D) ultrasound system SSS have been reported before. While there a paucity evidence compare manual (M-Scoliometer) with (E-Scoliometer) correlation between angle...
To investigate the association between cervical subcutaneous fat thickness, sagittal alignment parameters, and clinical outcomes following laminoplasty in patients with spondylotic myelopathy (CSM). A total of 131 CSM who underwent single-door January 2021 June 2023 were retrospectively analyzed, an average follow-up period 14.02±1.45 months. Subcutaneous thickness at C5 vertebral level skin-to-lamina distance (SLD) measured. Demographic characteristics, surgical details, postoperative...
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect Topping-off technique in preventing aggravation degeneration caused by adjacent segment fusion.Clinical parameters patients who underwent L5-S1 posterior lumbar interbody fusion + interspinous process at L4-L5 (PLIF ISP) with Wallis system (Topping-off group) were compared retrospectively those solely PLIF. Pre- and post-operative x-ray measurements, visual analogue scale (VAS) scores, Japanese Orthopaedic Association (JOA) scores assessed all...
Abstract Purpose To compare sagittal alignment and clinical outcomes between three-level hybrid surgery (HS) anterior cervical discectomy fusion (ACDF) on spondylotic myelopathy (CSM) over a 5-year follow-up. Method The study included 32 patients with ACDF, 36 1 prosthesis 2 cages (HS1 group), 25 cases prostheses cage (HS2 group). Alignment parameters C2–C7 lordosis (CL), vertical axis (SVA), T1 slope (T1S), T1S minus CL (T1SCL). Radiographic were range of motion (ROM), upper lower adjacent...
To investigate the effect of exercise on cardiopulmonary function and life quality maintenance hemodialysis patients. Eighty-four patients who underwent treatment for more than 3 months were randomly divided into experimental group control group. The general data nutritional indexes, including hemoglobin plasma albumin, before after experiment. differences in lung function, cardiac ultrasound, endurance between 2 groups intervention compared. short form 36-item health survey (SF-36)...
A combined MR suite and operating room (MR-OR) has been developed extensively assessed for its use in a wide spectrum of therapeutic applications. Equipped with 1.5 T short bore clinical scanner standard neurosurgical OR equipment, this surgical suite, surgeons can obtain intraoperative planar volumetric images superior soft tissue contrast spatial resolution planning, guidance, monitoring. Besides morphologic imaging capability, blood oxygen level-dependent functional MRI proton...
Abstract Introduction Contractures, ectropion and scarring, the most common sequelae of skin grafts after eyelid burn injuries, can result in corneal exposure, ulceration even blindness. Split-thickness or full-thickness are commonly used for treatment acute burns. Plasma exudation infection early complications burns, which decrease success rate grafts. Case presentation We present cases eight patients, two Chinese women six men. The first woman was 36 years old, with 70% body surface area...
Study Design. Case–control study. Objective. To compare intraoperative bleeding, drainage, and hidden blood loss (HBL) of posterior lumbar interbody fusion (PLIF) on spinal stenosis (LSS) in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) non-RA identify the risk factors HBL RA. Summary Background Data. Exploration PLIF LSS has been reported before while comparison total (TBL), especially or PLF between RA without not studied. Methods. Sixty-one diagnosed (RA group) 87 matched (NRA were enrolled...
