Abstract We conducted ambient monitoring of various hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) for 2 years (2013-2015) in two adjacent Korean cities a megacity area: Seoul and Incheon. Measured HAPs included volatile organic compounds (VOCs), polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), heavy metals (HMs). The objectives this study were to evaluate the spatiotemporal variations HAPs, prioritize based on health risks, identify sources using receptor-based model, estimate source-specific risks. Overall, HAP...

This paper reports the results of field evaluation to determine levels heavy metals in major industrial complexes Korea over a seven year period (2007~2013). The measurement metal was conducted using quartz fiber filter sampling and ICP-AES analysis. In order validate analytical performance these methods, studies were also carried out investigate data quality control (QC) parameters, such as method detection limit (MDL), repeatability, recovery efficiencies. average concentrations total...

Ambient air monitoring of particulate hazardous pollutants was performed from 2005 to 2007 in the Sihwa-Banwol industrial complexes, which is largest area Korea. The occurrence polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and heavy metals, their spatial seasonal distributions, factors affecting variations concentrations were investigated. annual average concentration benzo[a]pyrene 1.27 ng/m3, with a maximum 10.41 ng/m3. We measured a wide range of hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) simultaneously at five sites over four seasons in 2009–2010 Ulsan, the largest industrial city Korea. Target analytes included volatile organic compounds (VOCs), carbonyls, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), phthalates, and heavy metals (HMs). The objectives this study were to evaluate occurrence spatiotemporal distributions HAPs, identify important HAPs based on health risk assessment. Industrial emissions affected ambient...

Insufficient research has compared the impact of subtle and overt discrimination on somatic symptom disorder (SSD) among young adults with immigrant backgrounds in South Korea, a country that is becoming increasingly racially ethnically diverse. Therefore, this study sought to examine this. A cross-sectional survey was conducted January 2022 involving 328 aged 25 34 years who had at least one foreign-born parent or were immigrants. We used ordinary squares (OLS) regression SSD as dependent...

Large quantities of air pollutants are released into the atmosphere and hence, must be monitored routinely assessed for their health implications. This paper proposes a stochastic technique to predict unobserved hazardous (HAPs), especially Benzo[a]pyrene (BaP), which can have negative effects on human health. The proposed approach constructs nearest-neighbor structure by incorporating linkage between BaP meteorology meteorological effects. is adopted in order concentrations based observed...
