A photoinduced method for converting large quantities of silver nanospheres into triangular nanoprisms is reported. The photo-process has been characterized by time-dependent ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy, allowing the observation several key intermediates in characteristics conversion process. This light-driven process results a colloid with distinctive optical properties that directly relate to nanoprism shape particles. Theoretical calculations...

Wheat straw (WS) is a potential biomass for production of monomeric sugars. However, the enzymatic hydrolysis ratio cellulose in WS relatively low due to presence lignin and hemicellulose. To enhance conversion WS, we tested impact three different pretreatments, e.g. sulfuric acid (H2SO4), sodium hydroxide (NaOH), hot water pretreatments digestions. Among highest rate was obtained with 4% NaOH pretreatment at 121 °C (87.2%). In addition, mainly effective removing lignin, whereas H2SO4...

Seedlings of Citrus grandis (L.) Osbeck cv. Tuyou were irrigated daily for 5 months with nutrient solution containing 0 (control), 0.2, 0.6 or 1.6 mM aluminum (Al) from AlCl3·6H2O. Shoot growth was more sensitive to Al toxicity than root growth, gas exchange, chlorophyll (Chl) concentration, polyphasic Chl a fluorescence (OJIP) induction and related parameters. Leaves Al-treated plants showed decreased CO2 assimilation yet intercellular concentration increased ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate...

Colloidal alloy superlattices of two different nanoclusters are demonstrated here for the first time. Thiol-functionalized Ag and Au were prepared separately in toluene before mixing solvent evaporation. For certain Au/Ag proportions, particles spontaneously self-organized into ordered 2D arrays, which can be seen bright field STEM image Figure.

Abstract Background Little information is available on the amelioration of boron (B) aluminum (Al)-induced photosynthesis inhibition. Sour pummelo ( Citrus grandis ) seedlings were irrigated for 18 weeks with nutrient solution containing 4 B levels (2.5, 10, 25 and 50 μM H 3 BO × 2 Al (0 1.2 mM AlCl ·6H O). The objectives this study to determine how alleviates Al-induced growth inhibition test hypothesis that can be alleviated by via preventing from getting into shoots. Results had little...

Abstract The antifatigue effects of the hot‐water extract longan ( Dimocarpus Lour.) seeds were studied in mice. Longan seed polysaccharides administered at doses 50, 100, 200 and 400 mg/kg activity was evaluated using a swimming test, along with determination serum urea nitrogen, hepatic glycogen blood lactic acid content. results show that polysaccharides, ranging from 50 to 100 mg/kg, extended time, increased p < 0.01, n = 10), reduced nitrogen 10) decreased Therefore may have...

Recent studies have found that p53 and its' associated cell cycle pathways are major inhibitors of human induced pluripotent stem (iPS) generation. In the same family as is p73, which shares sequence similarities with p53. However, p73 also has distinct properties its own, such two alternative promoters to express transactivation (TAp73) N terminal deleted (DNp73). Functionally, TAp73 acts similarly in tumor suppression. DNp73, on other hand an oncogene suppress apoptosis. Therefore, how can...

Background: Rice seed proteins are lacking essential amino acids (EAAs). Genetic engineering offers a fast and sustainable method to solve this problem as it allows the specific expression of heterologous EAA-rich proteins. The use selectable marker gene is for generation transgenic crops, but might also lead potential environmental food safety problems. Therefore, production marker-free crops becoming an extremely attractive alternative could contribute public acceptance crops. Objectives:...
