This work presents results from high-resolution scanning transmission electron microscopy and energy-loss spectroscopy on twin boundaries (TBs) nontwin grain (GBs) in Cu(In,Ga)Se(2) thin films. It is shown that the atomic reconstruction different for symmetries of boundaries. We are able to confirm model proposed by Persson Zunger [Phys. Rev. Lett. 91, 266401 (2003)] Se-Se-terminated Σ3 {112} TBs, showing Cu depletion In enrichment two planes closest TB. On contrary, without detected a...
The behavior and fate of tissue cells are controlled by the rigidity geometry their adhesive environment, possibly through forces localized to sites adhesion. We introduce a mechanical model that predicts cellular force distributions for adhering patterns with different geometries rigidities. For continuous adhesion along closed contour, predicted be corners. discrete adhesion, mainly determined lateral pull cell contour. With increasing distance between two neighboring increases because...
First, we investigate the technical and economic potential of autonomously operating voltage control strategies in low grids with high photovoltaic penetration. The investigated are based on reactive power capabilities modern inverters application distribution transformers on-load tap changers. We present a methodology for assessing autonomous to increase hosting capacity show results 40 real German LV grids. Second, compare investment operational costs conventional grid extension measures...
The selenization of Cu-Zn-Sn-S nanocrystals is a promising route for the fabrication low-cost thin film solar cells. However, reaction pathway this process not completely understood. Here, evolution phase formation, grain size, and elemental distributions investigated during nanoparticle precursor films by synchrotron-based in situ energy-dispersive X-ray diffraction fluorescence analysis as well ex electron microscopy. are heated closed volume inside vacuum chamber presence selenium vapor...
This paper discusses the advantages of pulsed laser atom-probe tomography (APT) to analyze Cu(In,Ga)Se 2 -based solar cells. Electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) was exploited for site-specific preparation APT samples at selected grain boundaries. approach is very helpful not only determine location boundaries but also classify them as well. We demonstrate that correlative transmission...
Abstract Grain boundaries (GBs) in polycrystalline Cu(In,Ga)Se 2 thin films exhibit only slightly enhanced recombination, as compared with the grain interiors, allowing for very high power‐conversion efficiencies of more than 20% corresponding solar‐cell devices. This work highlights specific compositional and electrical properties GBs by application appropriate subnanometer characterisation techniques: inline electron holography, energy‐loss spectroscopy, atom‐probe tomography. It is found...
We investigated hydrogenated nanocrystalline silicon (nc-Si:H) films as doped emitter layers for heterojunction solar cells. Firstly, we focused on the effect of nc-Si:H deposition conditions and film growth intrinsic amorphous passivation layer ((i)a-Si:H) underneath. Three different p-doped emitters were compared: nc-Si:H, nc-SiOx:H, a-Si:H. found that nc-SiOx:H enhances epitaxy-free (i)a-Si:H layer, yielding implied open circuit voltages above 730 mV. Secondly, (p)nc-Si:H emitters,...
Drones are expected to allow faster and more efficient last mile parcel delivery while at the same time reducing relevant costs. This studies' purpose is understand what factors influence consumer acceptance in Germany. The Unified Theory of Acceptance Use Technology model was expand using an incremental approach. construct performance expectancy replaced with three context-specific constructs, environmental expectancy, speed relative advantage contact-free delivery. Four perceived risk...
A method has been developed to investigate material embrittlement on the atomistic level. By ion implantation embrittling agent is introduced into a small volume enclosing segment of grain boundary thin specimen prepared for transmission electron microscopy (TEM). After allowing implanted ions segregate at boundary, position determined by atomic-resolution TEM. In present study this was applied Al(Ga) system. Close correspondence with previous ab initio calculations found and model initial...
In the present Letter, we report on a combined ab initio density functional theory calculation, multislice simulation, and electron holography study, performed $\ensuremath{\Sigma}9$ grain boundary (GB) in ${\mathrm{CuGaSe}}_{2}$ bicrystal, which exhibits lower symmetry compared with highly symmetric $\ensuremath{\Sigma}3$ GBs. We find an electrostatic potential well at GB of 0.8 V depth 1.3 nm width, comparison results from random GBs trend increasing potential-well depths symmetry. The...
Abstract We study the sequential fabrication of Cu(In,Ga)Se 2 (CIGSe) absorber layers by using an atmospheric pressure selenization with a process duration only few minutes and utilization elemental selenium vapor from independent Se sources. This technology could proof to be industrially relevant for thin‐film solar cells. Controlling amount provided during metal precursors is shown effective measure adjust Ga in‐depth distribution. A reduced supply CIGSe formation leads more homogeneous...
Abstract Purpose To evaluate which factors exert a predictive value for not reaching the minimal clinically important difference (MCID) in patients who underwent tailored operative treatment recurrent lateral patellar dislocation (RLPD). Methods A total of 237 (male/female 71/166; 22.4 ± 6.8 years) were included. The Banff Patellofemoral Instability Instrument 2.0 (BPII 2.0) and subjective rating knee function pain (numeric analogue scale [NAS]; 0–10) used to patients' outcomes from pre‐...
The growth mechanism of Cu2ZnSnS4 thin films is studied starting from highly textured ZnS precursor films. These precursors were converted to by subsequent deposition Cu, Sn, and S at high temperatures. Orientation measurements revealed that the ⟨111⟩ texture inherited layer. On basis transmission electron microscopy measurements, a model proposed. According this model, initial formation nuclei controlled topotactic or epitactic with respect precursor. further grains appears be independent lattice.
