Highly ordered TiO2 single-crystalline nanowire arrays have been fabricated within the pores of anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) template by a cathodically induced sol−gel method. Raman spectra confirmed that nanowires are composed pure anatase TiO2. TEM investigations indicated these uniform tetragonal single-crystal structure. Finally, possible growth mechanism is discussed.
In gram-negative bacteria, the assembly of outer membrane proteins (OMPs) requires a β-barrel machinery (BAM) complex, which BamA is an essential and evolutionarily conserved component. To elucidate mechanism BamA-mediated OMP biogenesis, we determined crystal structure C-terminal transmembrane domain from Escherichia coli (EcBamA) at 2.6 Å resolution. The reveals 2 distinct features. First, portion extracellular side β barrel composed 5 markedly short strands, loops stemming these strands...
Alloyed ternary CdS(1-x)Se(x) nanowires were synthesized by template-assisted electrodeposition, in which the ratio of S to Se was controlled adjusting relative amounts starting materials. Higher-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) showed that alloyed are highly crystalline, no phase-separated Cd observed these nanowires. Optical measurements indicated band-gap engineering can be realized through modulating composition Se. With broadly tunable...
A monolayer ultrathin film of nitro-containing diazoresin (NDR) was fabricated on mica via a self-assembly technique. The adsorption NDR at different deposition times monitored by determining the absorbance NDR. It confirmed that is rapid and reaches saturation within 2 min. multilayer films composed as polycation poly(sodium-p-styrene sulfonate) (PSS) polyanion were layer-by-layer deposition. surface morphology observed atomic force microscopy (AFM). results show an can be obtained PSS are...
The absorption of a nanoporous TiO2 thin film was enhanced throughout the visible wavelengths with surface modification Sr2+, especially in range shorter wavelengths. Charge separation efficiency from laser experiment measured. Data show that incident photon to current solar cell based on dye Ru[LL'(NCS)2] (L = 2,2'-bipyridine-4,4'-dicarboxylic acid, L' bis(tetrabutylammonium) 2,2'-bipyridine-4,4'-dicarboxylate) sensitized Sr2+-modified electrode increased 9.2% about 11.8% under irradiation...
A novel catalytic reaction using a trace of organic amine as the catalyst enables hydrolysis silicon–hydrogen groups on fresh prepared porous silicon (PS), generating hydroxyl-terminated surfaces without extensive oxidation Si–Si backbonds. The reactivity with various silanization reagents was investigated, which proceeds by abstraction surface –OH to form an monolayer Si–O–Si–C bonds and importantly retains intrinsic structural properties PS layers. Furthermore, in situ modification has...
An ultrathin film from polyaniline derivative (PAAA) and diazoresin photosensitive polymer (DR) was fabricated layer-by-layer (LBL) with a self-assembly technique. The micropatterns were achieved on LBL after UV exposure through photomask. To directly characterize the patterned image, fluorescent-labeled IgG incorporated into film, fair clear fluorescence image of micropattern using laser confocal microscopy. controllable pattern silicon surface may provide simple fast method for...
Multilayer ultrathin films composed of nitro-containing diazoresin (NDR) as polycation and poly(amidoamine) dendrimers with carboxyl terminal groups (PAMAMC) (G = 1.5, 2.5, 3.5, 4.5) polyanion were fabricated on mica by electrostatic layer-by-layer deposition. Subsequent UV irradiation converted the interlayer linkage from ionic to covalent. The characterized UV−vis, FTIR, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), atomic force microscopy (AFM), diffraction (XRD). results show that uniform...
A novel self-assembly ultrathin film was fabricated using a C60 carboxylic acid derivative and diazoresin through electrostatic interaction on different substrates. Following UV irradiation the decomposition of diazonium group, bond nature converted from ionic into covalent got to be very stable. The microtribologic properties C60-containing were investigated atomic force microscopy/friction microscopy devices, result showed that rigid molecules in have load-bearing capacity. To increase...
G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) activate mitogen-activated protein kinases through a number of distinct pathways in cells. Increasing evidence has suggested that endosomal signaling an important role receptor signal transduction. Here we investigated the involvement endocytosis α(1A)-adrenergic (α(1A)-AR)-induced activation extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2 (ERK1/2). Agonist-mediated endocytic traffic α(1A)-AR was assessed by real-time imaging living, stably transfected human...
Two important microcavity effects—fluorescence intensity enhancement and lifetime shortening—are demonstrated to be exhibited by new microcavities consisting of a pure terbium complex sandwiched between silver mirrors. The advantages the use fluorescent rare-earth as emitting material Langmuir–Blodgett technique for construction are discussed. Microcavities acting optical resonators have potential applications high-density light sources communications color displays.
Ab initio and density functional investigations of HOBr−H2O BrONO2−H2O complexes were performed. For complex, structures vibrational frequencies determined at MP2 B3LYP levels theory with basis sets up to 6-311++G(d,p), binding energies obtained from MP4/6-311++G(2df,2pd) single-point energy calculations. Two Cs symmetry conformers found, the including ZPE correction are 5.6 5.4 kcal mol-1 for syn anti conformers, respectively. Electron correlation is important in determining equilibrium...
A kind of hybrid multilayer film based on mercaptobenzoic acid-capped Au nanoparticles (MBA-Au-NPs) and photoreactive nitrodiazoresin (NDR) has been fabricated via electrostatic self-assembly. Upon exposure to UV light, the initial ionic bonds between layers convert into covalent stability toward polar solvents, salt, or surfactant solutions increases significantly. The micropatterned NDR/MBA-Au-NP with covalently linked architecture was formed by selecting through a photomask later...
The layer-by-layer self-assembled NDR-PSS (nitro-containing diazoresin-polysodium p-styrenesulfonate) films were fabricated. crosslinking structure formed from the conversion of ionic bond to covalent after UV irradiation, confirmed by small angle X-ray diffraction. roughness and microtribological properties investigated atomic force microscopy/friction microscopy. ordered multilayer photoreaction are better in performance than that monolayer film. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Abstract:
It has been a challenge to accurately extract dynamic information from experimental fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FCS) data. In this paper, we compare three major fitting methods: the model-dependent multiple exponential function (MultiExp), empirical stretched (StreExp), and based on model-free maximum entropy method (MemExp). MultiExp straight forward physical significance but it is difficult implement interpret in complex system. StreExp simple form easy use its picture obscure....
