Design issues of digitally beamformed multibeam phased array antennas at V-band is discussed. Important functions direct down-conversion, timing synchronization, analog-to-digital conversion using all-optical ADC, and high-speed data networking are raised in future communication systems.
An ultra-wideband (UWB) impulse radio system, generating and receiving pulses of the order a nanosecond or less, provides not only promise high system performance, such as low power, data rate, being fade-free, enormous capacity, etc., but also technical challenge practical implementations, for example, synchronization short is quite difficult. A "two-step" synchronous method sub-nanosecond presented; it based on pulse sliding correlation theory. Moreover, paper gives loop design, made up...
Multi-beam phased array antennas are employed in wireless communications, where RF direct down-conversion, timing synchronization, and analog-to-digital of important functions. Design a novel all-optical ADC using spectral technique is presented, sampling speeds as high 40 GSPS with 6 bits resolution attainable.
