Sarcopenia has been associated with adverse postoperative outcomes in older age cohorts, but not assessed adults inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Further, current assessments of sarcopenia among all aged individuals IBD have used various measures muscle mass as well cutoffs to define its presence, leading heterogeneous findings.
Sarcopenia, defined as a loss of muscle mass and function, is physiologic factor that has been implicated predictor adverse postoperative outcomes in many older adult populations. However, data related to sarcopenia adults with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) remain limited. Older IBD are particularly vulnerable outcomes, part, due depletion from systemic inflammation, malnutrition, reduced physical activity. few patients undergo routine evaluation part preoperative assessment. Moreover,...
Introduction Direct-acting antiviral (DAA) treatment increased the sustained viral response (SVR) rate of patients with hepatitis C virus (HCV) and eliminated disparities between African American (AA) non-AA seen interferon (IFN). The aim this study was to compare 2019 HCV (DAA era) from January 1, 2002 December 31, 2003 (IFN in our predominantly AA clinic population. Methods We extracted data on 585 compared them 402 IFN era. Results Most were born 1945 1965, but DAA era more younger...
Introduction: The recent Direct-Acting Antiviral (DAA) era of HCV treatment has not only increased the sustained viral response (SVR) rate ( >95%), but also eliminated disparities between African American (AA) and non-AA patients seen with interferon (IFN) therapy. Issues remain, however, respect to identification linkage care in patients. aim our study is compare 2019 predominantly AA clinic from 2002-2003. We hypothesize an increase successfully treated due advent DAAs number being after...
