The relationships between oxidation-specific epitopes (OSE) and lipoprotein (a) [Lp(a)] progressive atherosclerosis plaque rupture have not been determined. Coronary artery sections from sudden death victims carotid endarterectomy specimens were immunostained for apoB-100, oxidized phospholipids (OxPL), apo(a), malondialdehyde-lysine (MDA), MDA-related detected by antibody IK17 macrophage markers. presence of OxPL captured in saphenous vein graft distal protection devices was determined with...

Modifications of lipid constituents within atherosclerotic lesions generate neoepitopes that activate innate and adaptive immune responses. We aimed to define the prevalence, distribution, relationship autoantibody titers oxidized lipoproteins subclinical atherosclerosis major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) in different ethnic groups.

We report a complex case of 15-year-old girl initially diagnosed with post-streptococcal glomerulonephritis (PSGN) but later identified as having dense deposit disease, which was classified type 2 membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis. PSGN and C3 glomerulopathy present overlapping clinical histological features, complicating diagnosis treatment. This highlights the young patient whose initial presentation management for transitioned to necessitating tailored therapeutic interventions.

Abstract Background Similar to coronary angiography and interventions, patients undergoing percutaneous treatment of lower extremity peripheral arterial disease are also at risk acute kidney injury (AKI). The incidence, factors associations, need for dialysis inhospital mortality related AKI in with critical limb ischemia (CLI) following endovascular therapy is poorly defined. Objectives purpose this study was analyze data from the National Inpatient Sample (NIS) determine aforementioned...

Abstract Objectives To assess national trends of acute kidney injury (AKI) incidence, incremental costs, risk factors, and readmissions among patients undergoing coronary angiography (CAG) and/or percutaneous intervention (PCI) during 2012–2017. Background AKI remains a serious complication for CAG/PCI. Evidence is lacking in contemporary its impact on hospital resource utilization. Methods Patients who underwent CAG/PCI procedures 749 hospitals were identified from Premier Healthcare...

Small pericardial effusion (PE) is not an infrequent manifestation in primary hypothyroidism. But massive PE with or without cardiac tamponade rare and often associated severe form of the disease. Here we report eight-year-old boy who was admitted that required repeated pericardiocentesis. Detailed examinations failed to identify etiology initially. Five months later, child readmitted impending tamponade. Primary hypothyroidism diagnosed based on clinical laboratory finding thought be...

Arterial access dissections may complicate cardiac catheterization and can often be treated percutaneously. The goal of this study was to examine the incidence, consequences, treatment arterial at a tertiary referral hospital with an active training program.Patients experiencing dissection during coronary angiography or intervention our institution between October 1, 2004, January 31, 2007, were identified their records retrospectively reviewed.Thirteen 3,062 consecutive patients (0.42%) had...

Acute limb ischemia is typically a surgical emergency and can occur secondary to distal embolization during catheter-based percutaneous revascularization. We present case of acute atherothrombotic the left lower extremity after stenting proximal popliteal anterior tibial arteries. This was successfully treated with use coronary aspiration thrombectomy device Pronto (Vascular Solutions, Minneapolis, MN) resulting in flow restoration.
