E896 has measured Lambda production in 11.6A GeV/c Au-Au collisions over virtually the whole rapidity phase space. The midrapidity p(t) distributions have been for first time at this energy and appear to indicate that hyperons different freeze-out conditions than protons. A comparison with relativistic quantum molecular dynamics model shows while there is good shape agreement high predicts significantly slopes of m(t) spectra midrapidity. data, where overlap occurs, are consistent previously...
Using a silicon vertex detector, we measure the charged particle pseudorapidity distribution over range 1.5 to 5.5 using data collected from PbarP collisions at root s = 630 GeV. With sample of 3 million events, deduce result with an overall normalization uncertainty 5%, and typical bin errors few percent. We compare our measurement UA5, generated by Lund Monte Carlo default settings. This is only second this level precision, for greater than 3.
The increased luminosity of the HL-LHC will require more channels in upgraded ATLAS Tracker, as a result finer detector segmentation. Thus, an and efficient HV biasing sensors also be needed is among many technological challenges facing Tracker Upgrade. A number approaches, including sharing same line several suitable switches, along with their control circuitry are currently being investigated for this purpose. proposed solutions latest test results measurements described.
The first result of the pp2pp experiment at RHIC on elastic scattering polarized protons sqrt{s} = 200 GeV is reported here. exponential slope parameter b diffractive peak cross section in t range 0.010 <= |t| 0.019 (GeV/c)^2 was measured to be 16.3 +- 1.6 (stat.) 0.9 (syst.) (GeV/c)^{-2} .
Abstract The ATLAS experiment is currently preparing for an upgrade of the inner tracking detector High-Luminosity LHC. new tracker, ITk, employs all-silicon with outer strip layers. building block ITk barrel stave which consists a low-mass support structure hosting common electrical, optical and cooling services as well 28 silicon modules. In this contribution, we outline challenging aspects pre-production testing phase at Brookhaven National Laboratory. electrical characterization these...
A detailed description of the integration structures for barrel region silicon strips tracker ATLAS Phase-II upgrade Large Hadron Collider, so-called High Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC), is presented. This paper focuses on one latest demonstrator prototypes recently assembled, with numerous unique features. It consists a shortened, shield-less, and double sided stave, two candidate power distributions implemented. Thermal electrical performances prototype are presented, as well assembly procedures tools.
We have measured the production of light nuclei (A<~3) in 11.6GeV/c Au-Au collisions at Brookhaven Alternating Gradient Synchrotron (AGS). The transverse mass spectra are analyzed using a thermal fireball model, and yields for different particle species discussed assuming coalescence fragmentation as possible mechanisms. wide acceptance range 3He measurements permits broad study parameter B3 functions momentum rapidity. Comparisons with data obtained previously AGS energies suggest that...
A computer-aided mask layout system is described. The purpose of the to assist designer in making transition from logic diagram or circuit schematic camera-ready artwork. used for device design, layout, cell and integrated circuits up through large-scale integration (LSI). Techniques placement routing include an automatic system, a CRT off-line digitizer (or card) input system. Output precision photo plotter ink plotter. runs on small-scale (16 thousand words) digital computer; hardware cost...
