ABSTRACT Vegetation phenology is a response to finely tuned interplay between different climatic constraints and thus critical indicator of vegetation –climate interaction. The rapidly changing climate on the Tibetan Plateau (TP) alters start growing season (SOS), but little known regarding following timing dynamics peak (POS) phenology. In present study, we used 2000–2018 Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) derived normalized difference index (NDVI) for land surface (LSP)...

Abstract Permafrost is one of the essential carbon pools in world. Due to limited studies on historical soil moisture changes and coupling relationship between temperature permafrost regions, significant uncertainty exists loss predicted by different models under global warming scenarios. Based tree‐ring width chronology Pinus sylvestris var. mongholica Litv. growing southern edge Eurasian continuous zone, we reconstructed summer (June–September) 0–1 m variations from 1705 2009, which could...

Elucidating climatic drivers of spring phenology in alpine grasslands is critical. However, current statistical estimates phenological sensitivities to temperature and precipitation (βT βP) might be biased their variability across sites species are not fully explained. We benchmarked species-level βT βP statistically inferred from historical records with observations a field manipulative experiment. then analyzed landscape scale estimated the best approach benchmark analysis 57 grassland...

ABSTRACT The Late Permian sedimentary sequences of the Northern Qiangtang Terrane are closely related to formation late Palaeozoic basins and sub‐duction Paleo‐Tethys Ocean. Here we present new insights into paleoenvironment provenance southern margin (NQT) during Middle Triassic, integrating existing petrological, geochemical detrital zircon U–Pb age data. Chemical Index Alteration (CIA) Ln (Al 2 O 3 /Na O) ratio indicate that sediments experienced moderate chemical weathering under warm...

To better understand the distribution of iodine speciation composition and controlling factors in groundwater from Datong basin, hydrochemical studies were conducted. Total concentrations ranges 6.2 to 1380 μg/L, with mean value 243 μg/L. Speciation is mainly controlled by redox potential. Under reducing conditions, iodide dominant dissolved species, while sub-oxic oxic iodate major a lower proportion iodide. The evident existence organic several samples may be related anthropogenic activities.

Abstract Phenology is highly responsive to environmental changes, particularly in ecologically vulnerable regions that have undergone significant anthropogenic management and rapid climate change. While previous research has mainly focused on interannual variations of specific phenological events such as the start (SOS), peak (POS), end (EOS) growing season, little attention been given abrupt shifts long‐term seasonality resulting from land management. In this study, we utilized full...

It has been a decade since Simon C. Estok first theorized ecophobia in this journal, and ecocritics have by now recognized the relevance of to almost every aspect our environmental crises. developed his theory response E. O. Wilson’s biophilia hypothesis. Though both Wilson emerged from North American academic culture, are prominent non-Western civilizations. By opposing biophilia, helps us understand Chinese concept “天人合一” (“Tianren Heyi,” “the integration humanity nature”), that become...
