Chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) is a prevalent chronic inflammatory condition affecting the nose and paranasal sinuses, posing significant socio-economic impact substantial challenges in management. Biologics targeting type 2 inflammation such as dupilumab, have emerged promising options. This study addresses critical knowledge gap by comprehensively evaluating 3-year of sustained dupilumab therapy CRSwNP.
ABSTRACT IgE‐mediated allergies play a significant role in respiratory diseases. Given the similar mucosal epithelium of upper and lower tracts their shared (patho)physiological immune responses, “unified airways” concept views these as single system. Recently, this model has been extended to include middle ear, with studies confirming that Eustachian tube ear are both anatomically functionally part airways. However, relationship between disorders remains controversial, conflicting findings...
Background/Objectives: Somnological findings are often written as free texts, supported by questionnaires. The quality and structure of free-text reports (FTRs) vary between examiners specialties, depending on the individual level expertise experience in sleep medicine. This study aimed to compare structured (SRs) from somnological consultations otolaryngology for patients assessed obstructive apnea (OSA). Methods: compared 50 with suspected OSA, including medical history, clinical...
Results of neurotological function diagnostics in the context interdisciplinary vertigo assessment are usually formulated as free-text reports (FTR). These often subject to high variability, which may lead loss information. The aim present study was evaluate completeness structured (SR) and referrer satisfaction vertigo.
Background: Tyrosinaemia type 1 is a rare inherited metabolic disease caused by an enzyme defect in the tyrosine degradation pathway. It treated using nitisinone and low-protein diet. In workshop 2013, group of nutritional specialists from Germany, Switzerland Austria agreed to advocate simplified diet allow more natural protein intake patients with tyrosinaemia 1. This retrospective study evaluates recommendations made at different treatment centers their impact on clinical symptoms...
Introduction Photon counting computed tomography (PCCT) is a promising new technology that enables substantial reduction in radiation dose while maintaining the same high image resolution [1] [2]. This study aimed to determine lowest possible necessary quality for use of CT-guided navigation systems functional endoscopic sinus surgery.
Objective Digital information and communication technology in European healthcare is growing. Unlike the numerous technological possibilities, present use perspectives otolaryngology care have been of less interest so far. This study evaluates utilization attitudes towards digital cross-sectoral among German patients.
