ABSTRACT
Coordinated collaboration is essential to realize the added value of and infrastructure requirements for global image data sharing in life sciences. In this White Paper, we take a first step at presenting some most common use cases as well critical/emerging (including artificial intelligence for) biological medical data, which would benefit tremendously from better frameworks technical, resourcing, legal, ethical aspects). second half paper, paint an ideal world scenario how could work all sciences beyond. As still long way off, conclude by suggesting several concrete measures directed toward our institutions, existing imaging communities initiatives, national funders, publishers. Our vision that within next ten years, researchers will be able make their datasets openly available quality interest them research benefit. This paper published parallel with companion Paper entitled Harmonizing Generation Pre-publication Stewardship FAIR Image Data, addresses challenges opportunities related producing well-documented high-quality ready shared. The driving goal address remaining democratize access everyday practices tools spectrum biomedical researchers, regardless expertise, resources, geographical location.
