Introduction: Pneumomediastinum (PM) is characterized by the presence of air within mediastinum. The association between PM and coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) has not been well established in current literature. We sought to summarize limited body literature regarding patients with COVID-19 characterize presentation clinical outcomes severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS)-COV-2 pneumonia at our institution better define incidence, prognosis, available treatment for this condition.

Preoperative chemotherapy or chemoradiotherapy is the standard treatment for resectable esophageal cancer (EC); however, it associated with increased postoperative complications and mortality. Recently, Immune Checkpoint inhibitors have been incorporated in of advanced EC. Its role preoperative setting has not established yet. In this multicenter, single-arm study, we evaluated efficacy safety neoadjuvant therapy sintilimab combination treating EC.Patients received 3 cycles 200 mg Q3W...

Pneumomediastinum and pneumothorax are complications which may be associated with barotrauma in mechanically ventilated patients. The current literature demonstrates unclear outcomes regarding critically ill patients severe COVID-19. purpose of this study was to examine the incidence COVID-19 pneumonia its influence on survival.A retrospective cohort performed from March 18, 2020 May 5, 2020, follow-up through June encompassing intubated admitted for at an academic tertiary care hospital...

3D-printed models are increasingly used for surgical planning. We assessed the utility, accuracy, and reproducibility of 3D printing to assist visualization complex thoracic tumors planning.Models were created from pre-operative images three patients using a standard radiology workstation. Operating surgeons model utility Gillespie scale (1 = inferior 4 superior), accuracy compared intraoperative findings. Model variability was one patient whom two independently. The subjectively by...

Gastrointestinal complications in critically ill patients during the COVID-19 pandemic pose a diagnostic and treatment dilemma. We present case of 74-year-old male who was brought to our emergency department with worsening shortness breath, fever, dry cough found have pneumonia. Early his hospital course, he admitted intensive care unit, significant abdominal distension large amounts simple fluid on bedside ultrasound. Bedside paracentesis returned succus enteric feeds, methylene blue test...

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide. Early detection essential to achieving a better outcome and prognosis. Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) reflect alterations in pathophysiology body metabolism processes, as shown various types cancers. The biosensor platform (BSP) urine test uses animals' unique, proficient, accurate ability scent lung VOCs. BSP testing for binary (negative/positive) recognition signature VOCs by trained qualified Long-Evans rats...

In our previous studies using the viral transneuronal tracing technique we demonstrated spinal and supraspinal components of ovarian innervation. Since increasing number data indicate presence morphological functional laterality in control gonadal functions, aimed to investigate whether cerebral structures trans-synaptically involved innervation ovary exhibit asymmetry or not. one left right was injected with red fluorescent protein expressing pseudorabies virus infected "red"...

Abstract Previous studies using the viral transneuronal tracing technique demonstrated central autonomic circuits involved in innervation of adrenal gland. Since increasing number data indicate laterality neuroendocrine system, we aimed to investigate whether supraspinal gland exhibits asymmetry or not. The circuitry left and right was studied individual rats by dual isogenic recombinant strains (Ba‐DupGreen Ba‐Duplac expressing lacZ) Bartha strain pseudorabies virus. Viral infection brain...

Abstract Using the transneuronal viral tracing method, central nervous system (CNS) connections of uterine horn were studied in virgin, pregnant, and lactating rats. The frequency labeling brain distribution virus‐infected neurons from compared among groups. There was a marked difference stem. In virgin rats more than half stems (5 out 9) labeled. contrast, pregnant animals viral‐labeled detected only few cases (3 16) almost each stem group labeled (12 13). A similar, less observed...
