The addition of Cu to an amorphous Fe 74.5 Nb 3 Si 13.5 B 9 alloy was found significantly change the crystallization process, resulting in formation a bcc solid solution containing large amount solute elements with fine grains. Alloys of Fe1-xAgx obtained by vapour quenching have been investigated X-ray diffraction and magnetisation measurements. The single BCC phase extends up to about x=0.14, while the FCC exists above x=0.6. For x=0.14-0.6, there is a mixed phase. average magnetic moment decreases with increasing x. It deviates upwards from simple dilution law in alloys x=0.6-0.7. Curie temperature, TC, 900K for alloy x=0.1, TC 550K x=0.6 x zero at x=0.95.

Giant magnetoresistance (GMR) in Cu-Co alloys produced by liquid quenching has been confirmed. A supersaturated solid solution was obtained a quenched state and fine-grained magnetic precipitates fcc Cu-rich matrix were upon annealing. It found that Cu 80 Co 20 alloy annealed at 500°C for 1 h exhibits giant ratio as large 4% room temperature.

Structure and magnetic properties of Fe-M (M=Ti, Zr Hf, Nb or Ta) alloy films produced by rf sputtering haye been investigated in Fe-rich compositional ranges below 10 at%M. These have a nonequilibrium bcc phase with lattice parameters larger than that pure Fe. They exhibit high saturation magnetization soft properties. In particular, the Fe 94 6 film annealed at 673 K for 1 h exhibits 2 T magnetostriction less 1×10 -6 .
