Accumulating evidence implicates the significance of physical properties niche in influencing behavior, growth and differentiation stem cells. Among properties, extracellular stiffness has been shown to have direct effects on fate determination several cell types vitro. However, little exists concerning whether shifts occur vivo during tissue development. To address this question, we present a systematic strategy evaluate shift developing using mouse embryonic cerebral cortex as an...
It is necessary to understand chemical bond nature of constituent elements on surfaces Al alloy and Al2O3 single crystals for the fabrication electronic devices advanced technology etching agent. In this study, we used as-sliced investigated state various crystal with a high-resolution X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). As result, obtained XPS spectra from as-annealed, monoatomic Ar+-etched Ar+(500)-GCIB (gas cluster ion beam)-etched crystals. From results, found that Al-2s O-1s core...
We demonstrated recently that chronic administration of aldosterone to rats induces glomerular mesangial injury and activates mitogen-activated protein kinases including extracellular signal-regulated 1/2 (ERK1/2). also observed the aldosterone-induced ERK1/2 activation were prevented by treatment with a selective mineralocorticoid receptor (MR) antagonist, eplerenone, suggesting mesangium is potential target for injuries induced via MR. In present study, we investigated whether MR expressed...
The interaction between monocytes and endothelial cells is considered to play a major role in the early stage of atherosclerosis, involved cell micromechanics may provide us with important aspects atherogenesis. In present study, we evaluated ( i ) cell-to-cell cell-to-substrate gaps electric cell-substrate impedance sensing system, which can detect nanometer order changes distances separately, ii micromechanical properties an atomic force microscope after application cells. Application...
An increase in extracellular Ca2+ induces growth arrest and differentiation of human keratinocytes culture. We examined possible involvement S100C/A11 this regulation. On exposure the cells to high Ca2+, was specifically phosphorylated at 10Thr 94Ser. Phosphorylation facilitated binding nucleolin, resulting nuclear translocation S100C/A11. In nuclei, liberated Sp1/3 from nucleolin. The free transcriptionally activated p21CIP1/WAF1, a representative negative regulator cell growth....
Icosahedral quasi-crystals with coercivity at room temperature are found in rapidly solidified Al-Ge-Mn and Al-Cu-Ge-Mn alloys compositions ranging form 20 to 25 at%Ge, 22.5 25%Mn 0 10%Cu. The highest Curie is 533 K for Al 52.5 Ge Mu 467 40 Cu 10 Mn . magnetization ( σ ) of the a field kOe increases from 0.2 0.5 emu/g increasing contents H c range 0.7 1.1 kOe. replacement by 10%Cu bring about significant 3.9 1.8
Abstract Pb-substituted La(O, F)BiS 2 (Pb-LaOFBiS ) exhibits improved superconducting properties and a resistivity anomaly around 100 K that is attributed to structural transition. We have performed temperature( T )-dependent photoelectron holography (PEH) study dopant incorporation sites the local structure change across anomaly. The PEH of Pb-LaOFBiS provided evidence for dominant Pb F: atoms are incorporated into Bi F O site. No remarkable difference in structures was observed. Across...
The addition of Cu to an amorphous Fe 74.5 Nb 3 Si 13.5 B 9 alloy was found significantly change the crystallization process, resulting in formation a bcc solid solution containing large amount solute elements with fine grains. It further observed that inhomogeneity structure increases upon Cu. inhomogeneous presumed enhance instability phase and tendency soft magnetic properties.
Alloys of Fe1-xAgx obtained by vapour quenching have been investigated X-ray diffraction and magnetisation measurements. The single BCC phase extends up to about x=0.14, while the FCC exists above x=0.6. For x=0.14-0.6, there is a mixed phase. average magnetic moment decreases with increasing x. It deviates upwards from simple dilution law in alloys x=0.6-0.7. Curie temperature, TC, 900K for alloy x=0.1, TC 550K x=0.6 x zero at x=0.95.
Giant magnetoresistance (GMR) in Cu-Co alloys produced by liquid quenching has been confirmed. A supersaturated solid solution was obtained a quenched state and fine-grained magnetic precipitates fcc Cu-rich matrix were upon annealing. It found that Cu 80 Co 20 alloy annealed at 500°C for 1 h exhibits giant ratio as large 4% room temperature.
Left ventricular (LV) hypertrophy is often present in patients with diastolic heart failure. However, stiffness of hypertrophied cardiomyocytes the transverse direction has not been fully elucidated. The aim this study was to assess passive cardiomyocyte hearts and influence actin-myosin cross-bridge formation on stiffness.Wistar rats received a vehicle (control) or isoproterenol (ISO) subcutaneously. After 7 days, compared controls, ISO administration had significantly increased weight LV...
During the inflammatory response, endothelial cell (EC) functions and mechanics change dramatically. To understand these responses, authors analyzed changes in EC gene expression an vitro model of inflammation using cDNA microarrays. After interleukin-1 beta (IL1beta) stimulation, over 2500 genes were differentially expressed, which approximately 2000 had not been previously identified by microarray studies IL1beta stimulation human umbilical vein cells (HUVECs). Functional grouping...
We performed photoelectron and Auger-electron holography to study the local structure of La(O,F)BiS2. found that previously reported surface-dominant Bi 4f component exhibits a hologram pattern derived from forward focusing peaks. This provides spectroscopic evidence existence two bulk chemical sites. A comparison experimental holograms with simulated using tetragonal charge density wave (CDW) models, as well monoclinic model proposed for high-pressure phase exhibiting highest...
Structure and magnetic properties of Fe-M (M=Ti, Zr Hf, Nb or Ta) alloy films produced by rf sputtering haye been investigated in Fe-rich compositional ranges below 10 at%M. These have a nonequilibrium bcc phase with lattice parameters larger than that pure Fe. They exhibit high saturation magnetization soft properties. In particular, the Fe 94 6 film annealed at 673 K for 1 h exhibits 2 T magnetostriction less 1×10 -6 .
