In order to obtain reliable data on d values and integrated intensities, an imaging plate (IP) has been applied high-pressure diffraction experiments with a diamond anvil cell using synchrotron radiation. The IP was found be more effective than conventional x-ray film by factor of 30, energy dispersive method several times. integrate the intensity IP, histogram successfully developed. This combination proved give lattice constant relative accuracy 2×10−4, observed intensities which...
A new soft X-ray beamline, BL07LSU, has been constructed at SPring-8 to perform advanced spectroscopy for materials science. The beamline is designed achieve high energy resolution (E/ΔE> 10000) and photon flux [>10(12) photons s(-1) (0.01% bandwidth)(-1)] in the range 250-2000 eV with controllable polarization. To realise this state-of-the-art performance, a novel segmented cross undulator was developed adopted as light source. details of source monochromator design are described. achieved...
We report on the excellent performance of a newly constructed soft x-ray helical undulator beamline BL25SU SPring-8 for photon energies 500–1800 eV. The full was designed to perform very high resolution spectroscopy solids with using brilliance, highly circularly polarized radiation. grazing incidence monochromator employs varied-line-spacing plane gratings which operate in convergent light from spherical mirror and focuses monochromatic onto exit slit. A resolving power excess 15 000...
The main components of a new beamline for surface and interface crystal structure determination at SPring-8 are briefly described. Stages the monochromator modified making an incident X-ray intensity more stable experiments. Absolute photon flux densities were measured with energy. A ultrahigh vacuum system is introduced preliminary measurements from ordered oxygen on Pt (111) surface.
The irreversibility line in high-temperature oxide superconductors is theoretically investigated from a viewpoint of dependence on the flux-pinning strength and general relation between effective pinning potential critical current density derived. It shown that magnetic field at 77 K strongly pinned sufficiently high for application.
The atomic scale characterization of dopant atoms in semiconductor devices to establish correlations with the electrical activation these is essential advancement contemporary process technology. Spectro-photoelectron holography combined first-principles simulations can determine local three-dimensional structures elements, which turn affect their electronic states. In work reported herein, this technique was used examine arsenic (As) doped into a silicon (Si) crystal. As 3d core level...
Synchrotron x-ray diffraction studies using a diamond-anvil cell and an imaging plate reveal that solid bromine begins to undergo molecular-to-monatomic phase transition near 80 GPa. The structure of the high-pressure is found be body-centered orthorhombic (${D}_{2h}^{25}$-Immm), as previously observed in iodine above 21 These results on plus previous data monobromide show molecular dissociation takes place when scaled unit-cell volume v\ifmmode \tilde{}\else \~{}\fi{}=v/8${r}_{s}^{3}$...
A new soft x‐ray beamline BL17SU (RIKEN) has been constructed at SPring‐8. The consists of two branches with each varied‐line‐spacing‐plane‐grating‐monochromator. Both monochromators perform high energy resolution (E/ΔE > 10,000) between 0.2 and 1 keV. One the monochromator achieves stability 10 meV over a period half day.
Mn $K\ensuremath{\alpha}$ x-ray fluorescence holography (XFH) measurements were performed on a single crystal of ${\mathrm{Bi}}_{2}{\mathrm{Te}}_{3}{\mathrm{Mn}}_{0.1}$ topological insulator at 100 and 300 K to search for the impurity sites atoms in this functional crystal. The three-dimensional atomic images reconstructed using an ${L}_{1}$-regularized linear regression. X-ray absorption fine-structure (XAFS) experiments also carried out 30--300 obtain additional structural information....
Measurements of the top quark-antiquark ($t\overline{t}$) spin correlations and quark polarization are presented for $t\overline{t}$ pairs produced in $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=8\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{TeV}$. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity $19.5\text{ }{\mathrm{fb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ collected with CMS detector LHC. measurements performed using events two oppositely charged leptons (electrons or muons) more jets, where least one jets is identified as originating from a...
The Y-Ba-Cu-O film prepared by chemical vapor deposition showed Tc=91.5 K and Bc2 (77.3 K)=60 T defined zero resistance. Jc values measured at 77.3 were 7.8×105 A/cm2 B=0 1.0×105 16 T, magnetic fields perpendicular to the c axis. Small disk-shaped precipitates possibly regarded as strong flux pinning centers in films observed using transmission electron microscopy. evaluation of related concentration configuration was reasonable agreement with values.
Long-scale jetlike x-ray emission was observed in a 100-TW laser-plasma interaction. The jet well collimated with divergence of 30-40 mrad and continued from the target surface into underdense regions for distance over 4 mm specular direction laser light. A two-dimensional particle-in-cell simulation shows an electron acceleration specularly reflected light collimation stream by self-generated magnetic field, resulting to
The design and evaluation of an energy-dispersive spectrometer to measure X-ray absorption spectra rapidly using a synchrotron-radiation source is presented. method employs cylindrically bent triangular crystal focus disperse quasi-parallel polychromatic beam onto the sample. passing through sample then diverges towards detector where position can be correlated energy. Both concentrated dilute samples were measured on film with electronic linear photodiode array data analysed determine...
We present angle-resolved photoemission data along the $M\text{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\Gamma}\text{\ensuremath{-}}M$ direction from a ${\mathrm{Cu}}_{2}\mathrm{O}(111)$ single crystal, collected at high photon energies ($h\ensuremath{\nu}=619$ and $891\phantom{\rule{0.3em}{0ex}}\mathrm{eV}$) $T=100\phantom{\rule{0.3em}{0ex}}\mathrm{K}$.
