In order to obtain reliable data on d values and integrated intensities, an imaging plate (IP) has been applied high-pressure diffraction experiments with a diamond anvil cell using synchrotron radiation. The IP was found be more effective than conventional x-ray film by factor of 30, energy dispersive method several times. integrate the intensity IP, histogram successfully developed. This combination proved give lattice constant relative accuracy 2×10−4, observed intensities which...

A new soft X-ray beamline, BL07LSU, has been constructed at SPring-8 to perform advanced spectroscopy for materials science. The beamline is designed achieve high energy resolution (E/ΔE> 10000) and photon flux [>10(12) photons s(-1) (0.01% bandwidth)(-1)] in the range 250-2000 eV with controllable polarization. To realise this state-of-the-art performance, a novel segmented cross undulator was developed adopted as light source. details of source monochromator design are described. achieved...

We report on the excellent performance of a newly constructed soft x-ray helical undulator beamline BL25SU SPring-8 for photon energies 500–1800 eV. The full was designed to perform very high resolution spectroscopy solids with using brilliance, highly circularly polarized radiation. grazing incidence monochromator employs varied-line-spacing plane gratings which operate in convergent light from spherical mirror and focuses monochromatic onto exit slit. The main components of a new beamline for surface and interface crystal structure determination at SPring-8 are briefly described. Stages the monochromator modified making an incident X-ray intensity more stable experiments. Absolute photon flux densities were measured with energy. A ultrahigh vacuum system is introduced preliminary measurements from ordered oxygen on Pt (111) surface.

The irreversibility line in high-temperature oxide superconductors is theoretically investigated from a viewpoint of dependence on the flux-pinning strength and general relation between effective pinning potential critical current density derived. It shown that magnetic field at 77 K strongly pinned sufficiently high for application.

The atomic scale characterization of dopant atoms in semiconductor devices to establish correlations with the electrical activation these is essential advancement contemporary process technology. Spectro-photoelectron holography combined first-principles simulations can determine local three-dimensional structures elements, which turn affect their electronic states. In work reported herein, this technique was used examine arsenic (As) doped into a silicon (Si) crystal. As 3d core level...
