Abstract The NNBAR experiment for the European Spallation Source will search free neutrons converting to antineutrons with a sensitivity improvement of three orders magnitude compared last such search. This paper describes progress towards conceptual design report NNBAR. moderator, neutron reflector, beamline, shielding and annihilation detector is reported. simulations used form part model which be optimisation quantification its sensitivity.

We revisit the medium-induced coherent radiation associated to hard and forward (small angle) scattering of an energetic parton through a nuclear medium. consider all $1\to 1$ processes ($g \to g$, $q q$, g$ $g q$), derive energy spectrum induced rigorously orders in opacity expansion for specific case Coulomb potential. obtain simple general formula spectrum, which encompasses results corresponding previously known special cases.

Considering forward dijet production in the q → qg partonic process, we derive spectrum of accompanying soft gluon radiation induced by rescatterings a nuclear target. The is obtained to logarithmic accuracy for an arbitrary energy sharing between final quark and gluon, transverse momenta as well momentum imbalance being large compared broadening. In case equal approximately back-to-back momenta, reproduce previous result Liou Mueller. Interpreting our result, conjecture simple formula...
