Pertussis outbreaks continue to occur in many countries despite high vaccination coverage. Under-diagnosed cases adolescents and adults may result increased transmission infants, who are at risk of severe pertussis. Additional measures protect both groups should be considered.Nasopharyngeal samples sera were collected from patients household contacts with clinically suspected Diagnoses confirmed by culture, real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR), serology. Bordetella pertussis isolates...

The aim of this study was to investigate the drug-resistance and molecular characterization carbapenemases, ESBL, aminoglycoside-modifying enzymes among Acinetobacter baumannii clinical isolates in Algerian hospitals.A total 92 A. were collected between 2012 2016. Antimicrobial susceptibility testings performed for β-lactams, aminoglycosides, fluoroquinolones, trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole, rifampicin colistin. phenotypic β-lactamases investigated. For 30 randomly targeted strains, carriage...

A glycopeptide-resistant Enterococcus faecium (EFRG) was isolated from a wound in patient hospitalized university hospital Algiers. This strain resistant to several antibiotics. carrying this the digestive tract which may partly explain its origin. Genotypic comparison of two strains by pulsed field gel electrophoresis showed that it same strain. Glycopeptide resistance due presence vanA gene. Vigilance is required facing emergence EFRG our hospitals.

Introduction: The aim of this study was to investigate the presence carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriaceae (CPE) in Algerian hospitals and characterize molecular types carbapenemases found.
Methodology: During a four years lasting between 2012 2015, 81 strains with reduced susceptibility carbapenems were collected from different hospitals. Carbapenemase genes detected by PCR. Multi locus sequence typing used genetic relationships carbapenemase- producing Klebsiella pneumoniae...

The present study aimed at elucidating the anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antibacterial mechanisms of Clematis flammula (CF) leaf extracts. Methodologically, antioxidant activity was evaluated using 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl ferric ion reducing power assays, assessed Gram-positive (Staphylococcus aureus) Gram-negative (Escherichia coli) cell cultures. Anti-inflammatory potency through cyclooxygenase trypsin inhibitory activities. Moreover, anti-inflammatory active extracts were...
