A new loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) test kit, including a simple DNA extraction device for the detection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex, was developed commercial use and evaluated its usefulness in diagnosing (TB).The LAMP performed using untreated N-acetyl-L-cysteine (NALC) NaOH-treated sputum specimen. The efficiency kit compared with other conventional laboratory examinations, nucleic acid (NAA) tests. The sensitivity raw (direct LAMP) smear- culture-positive...

To investigate pathogenesis of post–bile duct (BD) injury fibrosis, interlobular BD epithelial was induced in male F344 rats by a single IP injection α-naphthylisothiocyanate (75 mg/kg body weight) and were observed for 12 days. On days 1 to 2, cholangiocytes injured desquamated. 3 5, the affected began regenerate, showing positive staining CK19 vimentin. 5 9, fibrotic areas gradually developed around regenerating Glisson’s sheath. These consisted cells vimentin, desmin, α-SMA; vimentin-...

Treatment modalities for advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) have changed dramatically, with systemic therapy as the primary option. However, effect of sequential treatment on prognosis remains unclear. This retrospective study included patients who began between 2009 and 2022. The were separated into three groups according to commencement. number lines, efficacy, overall survival (OS) compared. Multivariate analyses prognostic factors analyzed using Cox proportional hazards model....

The novel 2-D shear wave elastography (2D-SWE) can measure two ultrasound parameters: dispersion (SWD) and speed (SWS). We investigated the ability of 2D-SWE in measuring spleen stiffness using multiparametric imaging. This cross-sectional study included patients with chronic liver disease who underwent esophagogastroduodenoscopy ultrasonographic examinations between September 2018 December 2021. In total, 157 were enrolled this study: 81 67 pilot set for hepatic venous pressure gradient...

Scleroderma is a skin disorder characterized by persistent fibrosis. Macrophage properties influencing cutaneous fibrogenesis remain to be fully elucidated. In this rat (F344 rats) model of scleroderma, at 1, 2, 3, and 4 weeks after initiation daily subcutaneous injections bleomycin (BLM; 100 μl 1 mg/ml daily), samples were collected for histological immunohistochemical evaluations. Immunohistochemically, the numbers cells reacting ED1 (anti-CD68; phagocytic activity) ED2 (anti-CD163;...

We herein report a 63-year-old man who presented with left lower jaw pain and was diagnosed hepatocellular carcinoma bone metastases post-examination. All tumors grew after immunotherapy atezolizumab bevacizumab, his worsened. After palliative radiation therapy, however, the shrank markedly, no recurrence seen stopping immunotherapy. To our knowledge, this is first case in which radiotherapy- immunotherapy-mediated abscopal effect facilitated tumor shrinkage discontinuation.

Renal tubulointerstitial fibrosis is the common feature of chronic renal failure, regardless its etiology. Myofibroblasts play important roles in progression and are characterized by expressions various cytoskeletons such as vimentin, desmin α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA). To pursue characteristics cells, we immunohistochemically investigated relationship between calponin (a marker terminal smooth muscles) expression myofibroblasts cisplatin-induced rat fibrosis. Abstract Aim The FibroScan‐aspartate aminotransferase (FAST) score comprises an easy and feasible method for identifying advanced non‐alcoholic steatohepatitis. Recently, shear‐wave elastography attenuation coefficient measurement on B‐mode ultrasound (US) have become widely utilized. We investigated the diagnostic accuracy of FAST as calculated using US‐elastography compared with that vibration‐controlled transient (VCTE). Methods Patients chronic liver disease who underwent VCTE,...
