Abstract The prevailing ‘division of labor’ concept in cellular immunity is that CD8 + T cells primarily utilize cytotoxic functions to kill target cells, while CD4 exert helper/inducer functions. Multiple subsets memory have been characterized by distinct chemokine receptor expression. Here, we demonstrate analogous T-cell exist, identical expression signatures and controlled similar generic programs. Among them, Tc2, Tc17 Tc22 contrast Tc1 1 express IL-6R but not SLAMF7, completely lack...
We present two patients with immune checkpoint inhibitor induced bullous pemphigoid. The modification of immunotherapy dosing allowed for the continuation anti-cancer therapy and along proper treatment aided in management skin toxicity. Those findings highlight possibility that this adverse reaction may be dose dependent adjustment used regimen key successful management.
“Mutational signatures” are patterns of mutations that report DNA damage and subsequent repair processes have occurred. Whole-genome sequencing (WGS) can provide additional information to standard diagnostic techniques identify therapeutic targets. A 32-yr-old male with xeroderma pigmentosum developed metastatic angiosarcoma was unresponsive three lines conventional sarcoma therapies. WGS performed on his primary cancer revealing a hypermutated tumor, including clonal ultraviolet...
Objective To document outcome in 2 dogs and cats after conversion of femoral head neck excision (FHNE) to total hip replacement (THR). Study Design Case series. Animals Dogs (n = 2) cats. Methods For 1 dog cats, THR was performed using cemented acetabular components. Noncemented components were used dog. Results All animals presented with severe pain chronic lameness unsuccessful FHNE. Potential causes suboptimal FHNE incomplete resection the 3) fibrous adhesions involving sciatic nerve 2)....
Abstract A great part of our knowledge on mammalian immunology has been established in laboratory settings. The use inbred mouse strains enabled controlled studies immune cell and molecule functions defined These were usually performed specific‐pathogen free (SPF) environments providing standardized conditions. In contrast, mammalians including humans living their natural habitat are continuously facing pathogen encounters throughout life. influences environmental conditions the signatures...
To report use of, and outcome after, string-of-pearls (SOP™) plate multiple cerclage wire fixation for treatment of periprosthetic femoral fractures (PFF) associated with total hip replacement (THR) in dogs.Case series.Dogs (n=6) PFF after THR.Clinical records (2005-2010) radiographic evaluations dogs that had THR, treated a SOP™ wires were retrospectively reviewed. Clinical postoperative assessments performed 4, 12, 24 weeks postoperatively. Telephone follow-up was >12 months...
Pluripotent stem cells are promising candidates for cell-based regenerative therapies. To avoid rejection of transplanted cells, several approaches being pursued to reduce immunogenicity the or modulate recipient's immune response. These include gene editing antigenicity cell products, immunosuppression host, using major histocompatibility complex-matched from banks. In this context, we have investigated H-Y antigens, a class minor antigens encoded by Y chromosome, assess whether gender...
Abstract Background Immune ageing is a result of repetitive microbial challenges along with cell intrinsic or systemic changes occurring during ageing. Mice under ‘specific-pathogen-free’ (SPF) conditions are frequently used to assess immune in long-term experiments. However, physiological pathogenic reduced SPF mice. The question arises what extent murine experiments performed suited analyze mice and serve as models for human Our previous comparisons same aged different exposures,...
Metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma confers a poor prognosis. Even with recent advances in the treatment of this disease introduction two modestly effective chemotherapy regimens, complete responses are still very rare. Moreover, there no published data on how to further manage patients who achieve sustained remission following treatment. Herein, we report case patient metastatic achieved response lasting for more than three years after receiving induction FOLFIRINOX followed by maintenance FOLFIRI.
Primary cutaneous lymphomas (PCLs) are a heterogenous group of non-Hodgkin arising in the skin from T- or B-lymphocytes, for which there is limited epidemiological data available. To describe disease characteristics and estimate annual incidence rates (IRs) temporal trends PCLs their subtypes Attica, Greece. A retrospective analysis all PCL patients, diagnosed Attica's main haemopathology referral centre 2009 to 2021, was conducted. In total, 1,189 patients were included; 725 males 464...
Over the last decade, there has been a growing awareness within scientific community of issues regarding diversity. Although diversity scientists grown, representation certain groups such as Asians, Blacks, disabled, LGBTQI+, women, and people from lower socioeconomic backgrounds in academia vastly declines they progress toward more senior positions their careers. While percentage these varies one academic field and/or country to another, overall trend is consistent. In UK, for instance,...

Background:
A key feature of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is the female predominance, as women present with this disease 9-fold more than men. In addition, phenotype in each sex quite distinct. Hormone impact, genetic distance, differential microbiome and epigenetic mechanisms are thought to be main reasons for bias. Yet, details pathophysiological that lead emergence trait poorly studied.
Objectives:
To elucidate molecular characteristics differentiate from male...

Workflow management systems are developed to support and automate the execution of business processes, by assigning tasks agents according workflow specification. Current state-of-the-art mainly concerned with routing assignment tasks, providing little for related administration management. This deficiency is exacerbated in dynamic open environments, where services provided managed multiple autonomous authorities need be integrated. Such environments significantly stretch assumptions...
This paper motivates the development of an open infrastructure to support electronic commerce for tourism industry. Such is objective OnTour project, involving representatives all participants in tourist service supply chain. In this we discuss unique aspects provisioning industry, and demonstrate need a business process management manage customer-tailored requests context highly dynamic networks providers. We also provide brief outline Aurora, related research project aiming common...
