Accurate clinical identification of 'higher-risk' oral premalignant lesions or areas within is important. Assessment methods that predict their presence have great utility.A cross-sectional, observational study enrolled a consecutive sample consenting patients diagnosed with leukoplakia, erythroleukoplakia, erythroplakia. Medical history, visual examination, ViziLite(®) toluidine blue staining (TBlue(®) ), and finally biopsy were completed in single clinic visit. Seventy-seven 100 examined...

The purpose of this report was to describe a clinical case conservative management extensive proliferative verrucous leukoplakia (PVL) using carbon dioxide laser, as an alternative complete glossectomy, which led sustained successful outcome over 12-year follow-up period.Patients with oral PVL, high risk premalignant condition, are often treated by wide surgical excision. This approach can lead significant morbidity and compromised quality life.A 50-year-old male PVL superficially invasive...

Oral leukoplakia and oral lichen planus are conditions that have the potential to transform into squamous cell carcinoma. This article describes a series of nine patients with an initial clinical-microscopic diagnosis planus. During close follow-up, these developed localized areas at intervals ranging from one half six years. While both may present white red mucosal changes, their management differs requiring surgical intervention, therefore accurate is imperative.

Recalcitrant oral lesions of pemphigus vulgaris (PV), an autoimmune blistering disease, can result in significant discomfort, difficulty eating, and maintaining hygiene. Increasing the dosage systemic medications to control such localized results increased risk adverse effects. We describe a male patient diagnosed at age 51 with PV by biopsy that included direct immunofluorescence examination. After further baseline laboratory testing, he was started on prednisone mycophenolate. These were...
