We report a series of 14 patients with 19 self-inflicted genital injuries during period 10 years. Of the 65% were psychotic and 35% not psychotic. Repeated attempts at self-mutilation occurred in 31% cases, mainly group. A history alcohol and/or drug abuse was present 55% cases. We report on 23 patients with genital gunshot wounds treated since 1977. Of these 16 received 1 shot and 7 multiple shots. We describe 14 patients with adrenal injuries from penetrating (ten) or blunt (four) trauma. The severity of their was evidenced by the high incidence hypovolemic shock (57%), mean Trauma Score (11), transfusion requirement (18 Units), number associated (4.9 per patient), complication rate and deaths (14%).
