Early awareness of Kawasaki disease (KD) helps physicians administer appropriate therapy to prevent acquired heart in children. However, diagnosing KD is challenging and relies largely on subjective diagnosis criteria. To develop a prediction model using machine learning with objective parameters differentiate children from other febrile children. This diagnostic study included 74 641 younger than 5 years who were recruited 4 hospitals, including 2 medical centers regional between January 1,...

Absorption of photons in atomically thin materials has become a challenge the realization ultrathin, high-performance optoelectronics. While numerous schemes have been used to enhance absorption 2D semiconductors, such enhanced device performance scalable monolayer photodetectors remains unattained. Here, we demonstrate wafer-scale integration single-crystal MoS2 with nitride-based resonant plasmonic metasurface achieve high detectivity 2.58 × 1012 Jones record-low dark current 8 pA and...

Abstract Background Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) is characterized by white matter lesions distributed mainly at the posterior brain, which may present with headache, visual disturbances, seizures, and disturbed consciousness in patients systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Recurrent PRES uncommon, but persistent seizures after are even rarer. Case presentation Herein, we reported a 33-year-old Taiwanese female patient SLE requiring long-term antiepileptics two episodes...

Oral lichen planus (OLP) has been implicated as a potential risk factor for oral cancer. This study aimed to investigate the long-term determinants of cancer development following diagnosis OLP. A retrospective cohort 318 patients with histopathologically confirmed OLP was conducted at tertiary medical center from 1995 2018. Patients were categorized into two groups based on presence or absence precancerous lesions (OPLs). Baseline characteristics, underlying conditions, and lifestyle...

Walking entails orchestration of the sensory, motor, balance, and coordination systems, walking disability is a critical concern after stroke. How to what extent these systems influence stroke recovery have not been comprehensively studied. We retrospectively analyzed patients with in Post-acute care-Cerebrovascular Diseases (PAC-CVD) program. compared characteristics patient groups stratified by their ability complete 5-m walk test across various time points rehabilitation. then used...

β-Diketiminato copper(II) L1CuCl-L4CuCl and their nitrite complexes L1Cu(O2N) L2Cu(O2N) have been synthesized characterized. X-ray analysis of the clearly reveals mononuclear structure with a four-coordinated Cu(II) center bound by one chloride three nitrogen atoms unsymmetrical β-diketiminato ligands. Cyclic voltametric shows that length pyridyl arm controls Cu(II)/Cu(I) redox process. DFT EPR results confirm geometry is also controlled chelating arm. The oxygen atom transfer reduction...

Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is a chronic inflammatory disease, might carry high risk of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) due to abnormal gut microbiota or reaction. We conducted 14-year retrospective cohort study based on Taiwan's National Health Insurance Research Database (NHIRD). A total 4007 patients with newly diagnosed AS (outpatient visits≧3 times, hospitalization≧1 time) and 988,084 non-AS comparisons were enrolled during 2000-2012. To ensure baseline comparability, the propensity score...

Abstract Plasmonic structural color, in which vivid colors are generated via resonant nanostructures made of common plasmonic materials, such as noble metals have fueled worldwide interest backlight-free displays. However, that were withstanding ultrahigh temperatures without damage remain an unmet challenge due to the low melting point metals. Here, we report refractory hafnium nitride (HfN) crystals can generate full-visible color with a high image resolution ∼63,500 dpi while temperature...

In longitudinal studies with time-varying exposures and mediators, the mediational g-formula is an important method for assessment of direct indirect effects. However, current methodologies based on can deal only one mediator. This limitation makes these inapplicable to many scenarios. Hence, we develop a novel methodology by extending cover cases multiple mediators. We formulate two variants our approach that are each suited distinct set assumptions effect definitions present nonparametric...

Abstract We report on the growth and characterization of a niobium titanium nitride (NbTiN) film Si substrate prepared by ultrahigh vacuum sputtering. show that superconducting transition temperature is lower than those high-quality NbTiN films. Interestingly, even though zero-temperature Ginzburg-Landau coherence length (=9.77 nm) significantly shorter thickness (=86 nm), we are still able to observe Berezinskii-Kosterlitz-Thouless-like transition, indicating two-dimensional (2D) signature...

In recent years, micro/nanostructured surfaces have been applied to enhance condensation heat transfer. However, transfer is greatly deteriorated by the flooding phenomenon that occurs at high subcooling temperatures. Here, we proposed a three-dimensional (3D) hybrid surface The 3D consisted of superhydrophobic (SHB) Si nanowire (SiNW) arrays and hydrophilic microchannels. microchannels could confine liquid film thickness, bridges formed on be self-removed. Both these characteristics prevent...
